Memorial Day is over which means summer is here!

Pack Walks will be at Loew Park beginning at 10 AM on June 1st, 22nd, and 29th. In the event
of inclement weather we will send an email out with an update, so please check your email
Saturday night! Pack walks are $10 each and open to anyone, not just clients. Sign ups can be
found on our website.

This month’s pack hike will kick off at 10 AM on Saturday, June 14th. We will be hiking the Rock
Creek and Old Mill Trail Loop at Furnace Run Metropark. This is an ON LEASH event. Please
check out the link in our bio to sign up, find the location, and get more details. If you have
questions please contact [email protected].

Structured Daycare is $50 a day with drop off between 7-9 AM and pick up any time before 6:30 PM. Sign ups can be found at the link in our bio or on the website. If you’re interested in daycare but have not completed training with us, please reach out to [email protected] to
schedule an assessment. Spaces are already filling!

Congratulations to our new group of AKC STAR Puppy Graduates!

Our newest trainer, Andrea, led our puppy development group class over the last six weeks
focusing on relationship and confidence building, nutrition and developmental stages,
socialization, and basic obedience. We’re so excited to see how these puppies continue to
develop with the additional tools Andrea provided during class.

If you have a puppy that is six months and under and feel that you could benefit from some
additional guidance, sign ups are open for our next class beginning on June 17th. For additional

Meet our April Client Spotlight, Pepper 🌶️

Pepper is a 4 year old German Shepherd who lives in Cleveland with her dads, Peter and Vince. She is a Pisces and recently celebrated her fourth birthday in her new house! Pepper came to us in summer 2024 to address some separation anxiety, resource guarding, and overall confidence building. After months of putting in the work, Pepper has become a sweet, sociable, good girl who loves to spend her mornings cuddling on the couch. Peter and Vince said their favorite thing about Pepper is how expressive she can be, along with how loyal she is to them.

Before Pepper was adopted she was used in a puppy mill, meaning she lacked any proper
socialization. This led to Pepper being timid, anxious, and mistrusting of most people. In fact,
Pepper took a good deal of time to acclimate to Peter and learn that she could also trust him. By
working on Pepper’s confidence and building Peter and Vince’s confidence as handlers, Pepper has grown into a super sweet and loving dog who now greets strangers with a tail wag and is ready to receive pets.

Peter and Vince continue to work on place to help with any anxiety, door drills, and recall.
Pepper is a smart girl and also just learned paw! The most valuable thing they learned during
training is how far consistency can take you. Pepper just celebrated a year with Peter and Vince and she is a completely different dog in the best way.

Introducing the January Board and Train Crew: Cyrus, Destiny, and Chilly.

Every so often we get a message asking us where a certain dog went, so we figured doing a monthly board and train wrap up would give you a chance to see some of these transformations from start to finish. This also gives you a chance to see the range of behaviors, training styles, breeds, and personalities that come through our doors.

Destiny completed our 5 Week Board and Train while Cyrus completed our 4 Week Board and Train. Chilly was able to participate in our exclusive 2 Week Board and Train that is offered to existing clients only.

Introducing our brand new puppy development class! Join us as we teach everything puppy. From basic obedience to nutrition tips and socialization, this comprehensive puppy course will help set your pup up for success. Space is limited for this round so email, text or dm if you would like to sign up. Your pup must have all three rounds of puppy shots and must be younger than six months to join the class. Introducing our March Client Spotlight ☘️

Meet Stella, a 10 month old Hound mix that lives in Ohio City with her parents, Marisa and Jeff. Stella and her family came to us in November of 2024 to address some puppy behaviors like eating mulch and mouthing, and to address more serious behaviors like her overexcitement with people and dogs and lack of recall. In typical hound fashion, Stella would rather spend her time sniffing than coming when called.

Marisa and Jeff said their favorite thing about Stella is her expressive and sometimes goofy ears. Her ears are doing something a little different in each photo they share with us. Their goals for training were to build up Stella’s engagement with them and lessen her fixation of drive to chase squirrels or other animals. Living somewhere as busy as Ohio City does not make this an easy task, but her parents have done such a great job taking her training seriously and continuing to work on reactivity with Stella daily. The most valuable thing Jeff and Marisa learned during training is that positive reinforcement is key! Training should be fun for your dog (and yourself!), and it’s important to recognize progress or a job well done.

Stella’s parents continue to work on heel and Stella’s reactivity as the weather warms up and more people, dogs, and animals are out and about. Jeff, Marisa, and Stella are our March client spotlight because they so quickly dove into training, worked diligently with Stella, and truly care about giving Stella the best life possible through training. We love having Stella back for boarding and see she hasn’t missed a beat since her 1:1 sessions wrapped up.

February Client Spotlight ✨

Bobbi is an estimated 1 year old Border Collie, Boxer, Pit Mix who was recently adopted from
City Dogs in late 2024. Bobbi now resides in Shaker Heights with her parents, Emily and Nick.
Emily reached out about training almost as soon as they brought Bobbi home. When we met for
Bobbi’s assessment, teaching Bobbi the basics, working on her reactivity, and housebreaking
were the main areas of concern.

Emily and Nick’s main goal for Bobbi was to manage her reactivity, which they did a great job
during training. Bobbi is a huge fan of other dogs, but sometimes her overexcitement would be off putting to the dogs she met. Bobbi’s parents are committed to continuing her training by joining us for pack walks and hikes, and setting up structured play dates with some of our other clients (s/o to Iggy!). Emily said the most important thing she learned during training was the value of building up engagement, the timing and meaning behind rewarding your dog, and teaching Bobbi to “chill” with a place command.

Emily and Nick are continuing to work on Bobbi’s reactivity and excitement jumping when guests
enter the home. When they’re not training, there favorite activity is cuddling up on the couch
with Bobbi.
