Hello friends!! Rescue is still going strong but due to inflated times of the economy, we are keeping a limited number of horses on ranch.. We are one of the few who took in horses ( for a zero deposit where as other rescues normally ask for deposits to take care of the horses until adopted, sadly with an inflated economy, it has became very tough for us to do that, so we opted to keep a smaller amount)… 

If you are in the market for something specific, please don’t hesitate to reach out and we will guide you in any way we can or find you the right horse with some patience if your looking for that special horse if there isn’t currently one available that meets your needs! We are apart of the show world as well and breeding buisness so it has been very hectic. You may reach out to my personal page if your a serious buyer of a horse or have a horse already, are needing a riding instructor or private clinician, etc.

We are back to teaching private Riding Clinics and Equine Health and Care Clinics, Sensory Clinics and more. Super fun for you or for you and your horse!! We take horses monthly to desensitize as well(you pay monthly), have a trail ride, or arena horse that needs to be desensitized— We help you fix that! There are a number of programs tailored for the individual.

You and your horse are welcomed as well! From the beginner to the advanced, Heather has taught these clinics for almost 20 years and has taught every rider from law enforcement to the arena Pleasure Rider to the Professional cowboy.

The money from these clinics go to the upkeep of Rescues and Retired horses off the track or just the Pleasure ride horse that is retiring! Keep in mind—Retirement doesn’t mean old, retirement is any age horse.

We will have a new web page this year, so stayed tuned for that which makes outlining the program so much easier. For more info, contact us directly please. We scaled back during Covid and inflation has made the horse buisness very high. Highest we’ve seen in decades.
Inflation has been hurting everybody in society of you aren’t duper wealthy.

As for Donations of horses— Since we have never asked the Donor of a horse for any money if they are surrendering their horse to our care and ownership, we try to accommodate if we have room..We wish we could do what we’ve done for years and years and take them free but it’s tough to do and depends on the circumstances. Many factors play into donations.

Hey FB Friends!
We have made a decision to add another Buisness in addition to what we already do in breeding and performing Cutting Horses at Rafter E Performance Horses and I wanted to share 'the dream' with you---

Texas Thoroughbred Breeding. A dream I've wanted for a long time to contribute in keeping Texas Racing alive.

In addition to Cutting horse breeding and showing, we will now be official TB Breeders in addition to the Quarter Horse Working Cow Horses we already do.
As most of y'all know, besides an extensive past with the Racehorse and Working Cowhorse (QH) industry, we take it very seriously as well as the Horse Rescue created many years ago on behalf of Racehorses, Trainers and Owners.

While this passion is taking off nicely and we will be standing 'Casino' as a Stallion in the next couple of years, and breeding Diva ( the hearts of our Ranch) I can't help but still want to contribute in our Home State's Racing Industry as well--Texas Racing.

So if your gonna dream, you dream big and make it happen. We are teaming up with some great people and horses and have acquired some very nice TB Mares for our next TB breeding season, one of which is a "Grasshopper" mare that we are going to cross with current Texas Favorite, "Too Much Bling". Stay posted. We hope for a great one from them as one of our first sale babies in TTA sale the following year.

In addition to selling weanlings and yearlings both privately and at sales, We will also be standing a stallion or two eventually giving Texas Race trackers a chance at great breeding and affordable stud fees.

I've had a calling for many years to do this part of the TB Racing program and put our name as Breeders out there and I finally have a partner I trust to go all the way with me.

When we started in the Cutting horse Industry, again, we said 'go big', so we did as well.

Please stay tuned and stay posted on this incredible journey in addition to our tribute we will be making in the Quarter Horse Industry as well with our horse stock. Although it is a lot of sweat and tears, it is so worth it and we are hoping to make a name to remember in the breeding family of both breeds. As breeding time approaches, we will have a separate FB page and web page for you to 'like'.

We still and always will offer Lonestar Horse Rescue, our own Race Horse Adoption Program we created quite sometime ago dedicated to owners and trainers looking to retire they're horses. Classy classy classy!!

Beautiful 3 year old Thoroughbred filly. She is bred to be a winner being bred by the Great GRASSHOPPER AND GRANDDAUGHTER TO THE LATE AND GREAT KING MAMBO. She will come with her papers, health certificate, etc...
King Mambo’s stud fee at the time her Dam was bred was about $235,000, King Mambo passed a few years ago, and this is your chance to have a Grasshopper/ Mambo filly! She will make wonderful babies as a broodmare or a nice riding horse with some stick saddle training or English. She was bred and owned by a legend, WS Farish.

She never ran a race due to the week of her Maiden race, working over a sloppy track and getting a slight fracture. She is making a full recovery, but due to being such a nice and classy filly, it was decided to not race her early and let her be a broodmare or riding Horse and recover from her fracture sound.
She is going great!
She has no bad habits, is gentle, loads well in trailer and is very pretty. I have a headshot attached and if you need more photos, feel free to ask if you are serious. Please do not ask me for videos, if your that interested, do it the old fashioned way and come check her out! Our ranch has been rehabbing her this entire time, and she is almost full recovery. I would recommend making her a broodmare and a trail horse. She is a steal at her price, as she will make a fabulous broodmare or riding Horse but she needs her next life to start. She will be healed completely if you would want to breed by Spring. Happy New Year from Lonestar Horse Rescue!!
We have several nice horses looking for a forever home in our Adoption Program. Currently we only have mares for adoption, but that changes periodically.

Mainly, we have retired racehorses looking for their second life and putting their service in on the racetrack. Our horses come with registration papers and current coggins.

We give full background info on horses and why they were retired, among other things, so rest assured this is the most honest Adoption program you can find.

But you will find that most of our horses were just retired because ‘it was time’ or a is a non starter. We also require buyers to sign a waiver of “no racing”, the object of Racehorse Adoptions is to respect their retirement of racing and then starting a new life.

These horses are looking for a good home with someone to love them, please don’t be discouraged because of the term “racehorse”. I have been on the racetrack half of my life and all these horses have ever wanted was a home after their career.

Most go on as English riding horses, Western riding, trail companions, or just a friend, despite if one has had injury. Most of these horses just need “time off” and then they are ready for your program unless otherwise stated. The time off period is usually with us, as they have been turned out and are no longer “Race fit”.

All of our horses in this program can either be rode or will be a broodmare.

Rest assured, it is a beautiful oppruntunity to grow with an animal. We also offer riding lessons and Horse care-taking courses.

Hey FB buddies! Meet a new edition to the Adoption Program. Royally bred 2 year old TB filly by Grasshopper out of a KingMombo mare bred by Lanes End Farm.

Non starter due to a fracture from a sloppy track that will heal nicely in the next 30 days, but because she is such a nice filly, it was decided to let her become a Dam... Perfect broodmare prospect. She will be more than ready for breeding season in April 2018 Ladies and Gentlemen. To my Racetrack buddies, she ran a 44.4 half at Retama (a rough track surface) before she got injured. Smokin for fun I would say.

She is priced to sale to a serious buyer only and to a good Home.
