Erika here: Confession and celebration time.
I've been a bit quiet on the public updates on these babies, in part because every part of this litter has been just so serendipitous. Nearly every home accounted for technically before the first post was even made, and the couple who took a moment to come together still fell into place like puzzle pieces.
While a bit of the worst time in regards to balancing my life and work with raising baby dogs, they have also been some of the best times. As it is with every litter.
It's been a running joke that this litter has been the one Séance let the boy do the most heavy lifting, actually letting Tama shine in them more than the boys of the previous litters got to. Apparently I need to let the Queen make her own decisions is what she's telling me.
So let's introduce The Break In Crew.
Tamaki x Séance
❤️ Red Girl - Distraction
Now Believe in Chances Des Vents "Beauregarde"
From four weeks old, she began to worm her way into my heart. Never to be ignored. Bold and bright, what started as my rowdiest and most vocal puppy became my observant and thoughtful little shadow. She has so much of the best parts of Séance and Tamaki both in her, both in personality and structure, and it surprised no one with the inside scoop when I decided she is who was staying, though I stayed strong until her herding evaluation. Where she showed the confidence of her mom and sister Vega, with a gentleness and thoughtful manner that is all her dad.
We have big goals, and will see where life takes us, but we'll do it together.
💙 Blue boy - Lookout
Now Beckoned By Spirits Des Vents "Sigil"
Sigil is living it up in Indiana with Kino. Who I first spoke to, but had followed for years on socials, just days after they were born. Something in me told me this litter may have their perfect match, and as the weeks went by, this little man made very clear to me who he was meant for. Though one of his brothers was a close second.
With some cheerleading and support I can't wait to see all the dabble dog things they do together.
💚 Green Boy - The Face
Now Brio - Reg Name still incoming
Our dear friend Alicia has been involved in every step of this litter from the first night, when we shared the surprise to her among a few other friends as we gathered our wits and snuggled Séance in the whelping box. Coming to visit them twice as they grew, and spending a lot of time with me and Séance, who quickly decided Alicia was great for both pepper tax bribing and a lap to nap on. Brio was a bit of a middle of the road sort of dude, sometimes easily missed between his much more in your face siblings... but he also had that sparkle, and that focus, and when you gave him the space to show how bright he was, he really shined. When it came time for evaluations, he didn't disappoint, and seeing Alicia's smile the moment we stacked him out told us everything we needed to see. It brings me a bit of joy that Beau and Brio will get to see each other sometimes, as they were a pair who were rarely apart at any given moment.
💜 Purple boy - Shadow
My goofy happy, bold as brass little man. His name is still being decided, but he's gone to a local home who has a long standing love of the breed and knew that a beauceron like him was exactly what they'd been envisioning for in their life. He’s got two young boys to keep up with, and a new dad with lots of goals. One of which he ran to on first meeting like he knew it was them. My all around little bro-dog will be living his best life, and I'll hopefully get to see him often.
🧡 Orange girl - Getaway
Currently Rocket, but that's my doing. Her real name will come soon. Given for her propensity to launch at me full speed, along with anyone or anything else she wants to.
Soon to be terrorizing her half brother Cass and Co. Krista came with Lexi to pick up Cass, and fell in love with papa Tama at first meeting. She said the only way she'd get a beauceron is if it was a Tama puppy... welp.
Rocket is, hilariously, basically Cass in a girl's body. Though a little calmer, and less bossy. A little sassy, very sweet, outgoing and social, and a little bit independent. She has been such a fun puppy from the beginning, and one of the puppies that reminds me the most of Tama. Exactly as ordered. She goes home in a couple of weeks, and for now is enjoying all the extra time with her extended family here at home.
🩷 Pink Girl - Lockpick
Now Bête Noire des Vents "Theia"
All of Tamaki's bright and happy personality with Séance's sass. Truly a pretty little spitfire in the best way. She demands and holds attention, prancing her way around. It's very fitting that her new home means she gets to be an active little farm dog and horse dog. Another serendipitous moment, she now lives only Ten minutes away, and hopefully I'll get to see her and Michelle playing at the same sport venues as her papa Tama and I will be when she's older.
Last but not least by any stretch of the imagination
💛 Yellow Boy - Muscle
Now Bancroft's Deep Cover Des Vents "Beaufort"
His new owner Jessica and I had wonderful conversations about her ideal puppy. With a future as a farm dog and potential IGP and Scent work pup. We had originally spoken about future plans, but once these babies were here I let her know I had an inlking her boy would be one of them. As I got to know them, from a very early age this little man stood out to me as just the right fit for what she was looking for, though I made her wait like everyone else (including me) for the proper temperament evaluations to be sure. He made the long trek home last week, and has already chosen her son as his person. Though he loves Jessica still, we all know beaucerons and their kiddos. I'm so excited to see what they all do together.
I am so excited for these babies and their new families.
While Séance threw a whole monkey wrench into my spring, I would never take a second of it back.
