Thank you, Northern Ohio Dressage Association for another fantastic show!
This was the perfect way to wrap up summer break for our Junior riders, as they head back to school over the next two weeks.
Now, a bit of a trainer brag moment for these cool kids... These four young riders have grown in leaps and bounds this summer. Our horse show crew this year ranged from 7-14 years old. They’re all at the barn several days a week, doing everything from riding and grooming to feeding, turning out, cleaning tack, and helping with the littler riders.
They push themselves both in and out of the saddle to be the best teammates for their horses and barn friends, and as trainers, that’s all we could ever ask for! The kids all set big goals for themselves this summer, and as of this weekend I think we’ve checked them all off. To name a few-
-first horse shows
-cantering at a horse show
-cantering independently in lessons
-riding alllll the lesson horses
-checking their posting diagonals
-getting their canter leads
-trail rides and riding in the big hunt field
-putting on their bridles independently
I’m beyond proud of all of them, and feeling lucky to be able to offer showing opportunities as part of our program.
None of this would be possible without all of the support behind the scenes. A HUGE thank you to the owners of our lesson horses, who share them with us so they can be loved beyond measure and teach life lessons alongside horsemanship. Shoutout to our amazing horse show parents, who support the whole crew every step of the way and keep us fed and watered. Thanks to NODA for providing more opportunities for our youth members. And lastly, thanks to our head trainer Danielle Nemastil for coaching, training, kid/pony wrangling, hauling, and all the things that make it possible for us to show with the kids!
