Had to go to the vet today.

Apparently it was time for my Librela injection and to have my ears checked again.

The humans seemed VERY excited because my Librela is doing wonders and my ears are looking much better. 🙄👏

I mean, cool. Happy for them.

Personally, I was there for one reason:

CHEESE. 🧀

I cooperated.They provided cheese.

Everyone upheld their end of the agreement. 🤝😂

Anyway, I’m feeling great, my ears are better, and I’ve confirmed Oak Tree still has an acceptable cheese supply.

Earlier this week, Mishka’s siblings came in with the same GI symptoms, and now the household has officially turned into a vomiting and diarrhea support group.

Everyone is now on probiotics and being closely monitored while they recover.💕

This is a good reminder that when one cat in a multi cat household becomes sick, it’s worth watching the entire crew.

Some gastrointestinal infections can spread through shared litter boxes, bowls, contaminated surfaces, grooming, and close contact.

So if one cat starts vomiting or having diarrhea, don’t just watch that cat. Watch everybody.

Because nothing says family bonding quite like sharing a stomach bug. 🤕

🐈‍⬛ Did you know Black Cat Appreciation Day is celebrated each year on August 17?

🖤 It’s a day dedicated to celebrating black cats, highlighting their unique personalities, and helping dispel some of the myths and negative stereotypes that have surrounded them.

🖤 Black cats are sometimes overlooked in shelters simply because of their color. This day is a great reminder that beneath that gorgeous black coat is a cat who wants the exact same things every other cat does: love, playtime, treats, a cozy place to sleep, and a family to call their own.

So today, we’re celebrating all the house panthers, mini voids, and midnight toe beans! 🐾

Meet Sparky!

🦆 This fashionable little accessory isn't a costume. It's a duck muzzle, and it's there to help keep our team safe while Sparky reminds us that personal space is... negotiable.

The good news?
We were still able to provide the care he needed with as little stress as possible for everyone involved.

As for Sparky? He has absolutely no regrets about trying to snack on the staff. 😂💕

💚 Remy came in looking extra handsome for his annual wellness visit and his parents report that he is doing great at home and have no concerns. We did bloodwork. Some might ask why is there a need if he appears healthy?

Because cats are masters at hiding illness!

🩸Bloodwork can help detect early changes that may not be visible during a physical exam.
And there’s another big benefit: your pet’s baseline matters! Every animal has their own individual “normal.” Having healthy bloodwork on file allows us to compare future results to your pet’s personal baseline. If they become sick later, seeing how their values have changed from their normal can provide important information and help guide their care. 🩺❤️

Ever wonder what we're looking at under the microscope? 🔬👀

This photo shows cocci, which are tiny, round bacteria. While some bacteria are a normal part of a pet's skin and body, seeing large numbers of cocci in the wrong place can point to an infection.

How do we find them? We collect a sample from your pet's skin, ears, or another affected area using a swab or clear tape. Then we stain the sample and examine it under the microscope.

This quick, in house test, called cytology, helps our veterinarians identify what's causing the problem and choose the most appropriate treatment instead of just guessing.

It's one more way we use diagnostics to give your pet the best care possible. ❤️🐾
