Mexico Develops 3D-Printed Coral to Restore Dying Reefs

Mexican marine scientists have developed biodegradable 3D-printed coral structures to help restore rapidly dying reefs along the Yucatán coast. These coral “scaffolds” mimic the shape and texture of real coral and are infused with nutrients to attract marine life.

Once deployed underwater, fish and invertebrates begin to colonize them, and real coral begins growing on top. The structures are made of calcium carbonate and chitosan — safe for the ocean and fully biodegradable.

Early trials show a 300% increase in biodiversity after just six months.

ATTENTION HERNANDO COUNTY RESIDENTS

A proposal is in motion to Establish a “Public Service Overlay District” at the Sandhill Boy Scout Reservation—yes, the same beloved natural area generations have camped, hiked, and explored on land that was Donated and NOT TO BE SOLD, EVER!

Translation? They want to change the zoning to allow a major electrical utility to potentially build infrastructure there—substations, operations centers, and possibly office buildings. Once this overlay is in place, it opens the door to concrete, construction, and corporate use in what’s supposed to be conservation and outdoor recreation land.

This isn’t just a zoning tweak—it’s a red flag.

It’s the ol’ BAIT and SWITCH!

If the Scouts’ land can be flipped for utility use, what’s next? And why aren’t more people talking about it?

NASA has classified Snake plant, now called Dracaena, as an air purifier due to its ability to remove toxic compounds such as benzene, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, xylene and toluene.
This plant uses the acid metabolism of the Crassulacee to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide, enabling it to resist drought.
The microscopic pores on its leaves, called stomata, open only at night to limit water loss through transpiration in the heat of the sun.
Unlike other plants, Snake plant produces oxygen and absorbs carbon dioxide at night, making it an excellent indoor air purifier while we sleep.🌹🌹🔥

The Salema Porgy, a fish found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, is known for its unusual hallucinogenic effects. Consuming this fish can lead to vivid and sometimes terrifying hallucinations that last up to 36 hours. Scientists believe these effects come from toxins the fish absorbs through its diet, though the exact compounds responsible remain unclear. Historical records suggest that the Salema Porgy was intentionally eaten as a natural psychedelic during the Roman Empire, making it one of the earliest known marine-based hallucinogens. While not commonly consumed today, there have been modern cases of accidental intoxication, with individuals experiencing intense visions, altered perceptions of reality, and, in some cases, frightening nightmares. Despite its trippy reputation, the Salema Porgy is not considered highly risky, but its unpredictable effects make it an unusual phenomenon in marine biology.
