Roxie update :) Sweet girl is doing well. Her pain level is drastically decreased and she is tolerating the chemo very well. This is a very unusual cancer in dogs. It's more common in cats. We do not know yet if Roxie will get her voice back. This tumor had moved down close to her larynx so the surgery affected it.
The bills are a bit yikes but she absolutely is worth it and she deserves it. When Sue got Roxie the vet noticed that besides being underweight, she had no muscle tone. She also didn't run. She had an odd gait. She was a mill dog so she was likely kept penned. Now she runs around the yard with her foster brother and loves it

Little Buddy had his neuter, 4dx HW test (neg), was brought UTD on his vaccines, and started on his HW prevention. He is such a sweet little guy!!! He is getting used to his inflatable collar. He wasn't too happy about it at first. He will be able to take it off in a couple of days. He is healing well :)

Bella’s 5 day stray hold ended. She has been adopted by someone who has been with her before and she will be taken care of.

We need to raise some funds to help a sweet girl that we got out of a bad mill situation. Roxie, a Bernese Mountain Dog, never had any vet care. I really can't forget the smell when she was in my car. It was a mix of infection, urine, f***s, a**l glands and yeast.
Our treasurer is a Bernese person. We had to help get her to a good rescue. We did and Sue is fostering her.
She had pus rolling out of her ear and was matted to her skin.
The chronic ear infections were caused by a cancerous tumor. CERUMINOUS GLAND ADENOCARCINOMA
This tumor was causing her a great deal of pain. Her ears have been an issue her entire life and the former owner just didn't care. She was only worth puppies in their eyes.
Roxie just had an ear ablation where her entire ear ca**l was removed. The surgery was not easy as part of the tumor wrapped around some nerves near her larynx, more evidence that she was in a great deal of pain.
Even in pain, Roxie was enjoying her new life in a home. She is the sweetest girl. and has such expressive eyes. You can see her new found joy. She is half the size of her foster bubby. She is only 6.5 years old :'( She has known so much suffering :'( She never had a bed, she never had a toy, she never had any comfort until she left that .
The rescue was not expecting this kind of expense. We want to help raise funds for Roxie. She will remain with her foster.
