🐴FOREVER GRATEFUL TO THE AMAZING TEAM AND THE TEAM 🐴

I .rogue.lily/Amber Baughman-Markley and /Lynn Smith do not have the words to express our gratitude to the incredible teams at both and . You guys saved our horse Sum’s life, and for that, we will be forever grateful.

From the emergency call bringing to the stable and the following intensive care we received at the hospital from the care, expertise, and compassion shown were beyond extraordinary. They treated us like family, answering every question, comforting every concern and doing everything possible to ensure the best outcome despite a super long shot in the dark with Sum’s random and mysterious illness.

Thank you for your dedication, skill, and kindness, Sum Assembly Required is on the road to recovery, and we couldn’t be more relieved and grateful. There are no words to fully capture what this means to us, but know that you are heros in every sense of the word.

From the bottom of our hearts for our little miracle pony - thank you 💕

Breaking News: .rogue.lily actually out here doing her job as an saddle fitter. 🤯

“No, this isn’t a drill. I showed up, after stopping at Starbucks (which I forgot to finish and left at the barn), I walked confidently into the barn as if I know what I’m doing and started doing it, actually physically fitting saddles, live in person.” Amber M. MSF & QBF

It’s a rare siting, folks so savor it. By next week she will be teaching these skills at an actual school with the !! Following those weeks spent in academia she will with almost certainty return to her natural habitat: “pretending to be busy at her desk.”

PS: If you do see her typing furiously, she is probably sending herself emails to look productive…

We are so excited for the spring sessions of the North American Saddlery School. This weekend kicks off with the Bridle Fitting Course. As a qualified bridle and bit fitter this is such an important thing to address as we've notice dramatic differences in the changes we've made to our own, personal horses! Amber Baughman-Markley and her apprentice Carly Nelson ensure that the all of our client's horses at our farm are comfortable with their bits, bridles, saddles and girths🦄🥰

Are you ready to take your horse's performance to the next level? 🐴✨ Understanding bridle fitting is key! Join us at North American Saddlery School to learn all about it. Link in bio! 📚💪

Through the winter we should rough out our horses. Give them time to be a horse; get scruffy and hairy and muddy and emotionally let down from the stress of riding, showing and travelling. This increases longevity, emotional bonding and happier, healthier horses.

However, we can should still be around our horses, learn and grow as horseman. We recently took this fantastic online course through Horses Inside Out. This online massage course for horse owners is a step by step guide that will give you the confidence and skills to massage your horse with soft tissue techniques that really make a difference to equine comfort, health and performance.

Learning massage for your horse can help to improve mobility, suppleness, flexibility and posture as well as helping with mental relaxation and contentment.

Massage is a superb opportunity to develop the bond between you and your horse. Check out the link and consider, we are 10/10 recommending to all our owners in the barn and anyone looking to make their horses more comfortable and stay active in the winter months! Also a great use of time if your horse is out for injury or recovery of any sort!

To our test group it was a 💯 success!! The template - tasty nibbles, signature cocktail, wine, light conversation, followed by uninterrupted reading time spread throughout the cozy fire-sided farm house. We enjoyed great food, lovely wine, cozy reading spaces, snoozing dogs at our feet.

Incredible way to end a chaotic day with a great group of people!

Next to frozen mud season it’s our second favorite, snow and ice weather🐴❄️🧊🥶!! Here are some cute farm snow photos anyway.

To our clients present and future, the farm is prepped and we are ready. We have plenty of hay, fresh water, electrolytes, dry stalls, extra blankets if needed and we have planned for power outages should that happen. The horses are safe and warm. So are the cats, dogs and humans!!

Please do not try and come to the farm today .rogue.lily aka Amber Baughman-Markley is under the weather and not able to plow or blow the driveway and walkways yet. If you have any concerns contact us, stay safe.

The road to anything truly worth having is often steep, but the view when you get there….
The farm this year has been worth all the early morning rises and late night chore finishes. The light alone has been truly spectacular. That view though!
