SDVMA awarded is highest award, the Distinguished Service Award, to the SDVMA Alliance and its members. This award is made to a person or organization that demonstrates outstanding support of the veterinary profession.

Over its decades-long existence, the Alliance supported veterinary medicine by being a driving force in the fundraising for the SDVMA Scholarship Foundation.

The Alliance was a long-time supporter of scholarships to support high school science fairs and winners. This instilled an early love of science that helped motivate young people to be part of veterinary medicine over the years. The Alliance’s support of these science fair awards remains today as SDVMA supports the science fair winners across the state in honor of the Alliance.

The Alliance's contributions to veterinarians and veterinary medicine are countless;
The members of the Alliance who contributed in big and small ways over its decades of service are too many to name individually;
The impact of the Alliance is immeasurable.

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes this work and these people with thanks and admiration for the difference they made.

Please plan accordingly. The clinic will be closing at noon on Friday July 24th to allow employees to attend a coworker’s wedding. A vet will be available in the event of an emergency by calling 605-874-2450.

I want to thank everyone for your comments; it means more to me than you can imagine. My philosophy has always been to treat everyone like family, and, like family, we might not always agree on things, but I still continued to do what I thought was best for your food and companion animals. Like any job, there were days I wondered why I was doing this, but for the majority of the time, I deeply enjoyed being a veterinarian and helping you all. Thanks again, Dr. Mark.
