Hanson Family Farms

Hanson Family Farms Hanson Family Farms is exactly that, all the care of the animals is done by the family. We sell our products at local farmer's markets.

We raise quality lamb, goat, pork and beef that produce tasty and nutritious meat to serve on your table. We are a small Family Farm raising sheep, meat goats, beef cattle and pigs. We sell our product at two local Farmer's Markets: Vallejo Saturdays 9 to 1 PM and Livermore on Sundays 9 AM to 1 PM. We try to keep a variety of lamb, goat, beef and pork, and are willing to get special cuts for you

if possible. We have a large variety of sausages made from pork, goat, beef and lamb. We also raise and sell whole meat chickens. If you have questions, you can leave a message here or call Jim at 925 759-4378.

I was strolling through the barn and noticed this duck. Her babies are almost as big as her, and during the day they are self sufficient, but they cuddle at bedtime!

It looks like Jim will come home tomorrow. He went into Emergency last Thursday and has had two unexpected surgeries. The last one was for an infection in his bone, so we are playing hard ball. He will have IV antibiotics for at least six weeks, and I don't know how mobile he will be, at least for the first couple weeks. I can't believe this has happened. The doctors seem to think he should be fine. I am so thankful for Josh and Jamie for all the help, and if course their families for being so supportive and forgiving! Our other daughter and her family are coming to visit for Easter. My heart is full.

Just a heads up! We are at the Livermore market today, but we are taking a family weekend next weekend, so we will not be there.

We picked up more pork and beef yesterday, so we should be pretty well supplied for market this Sunday. For our friends from Vallejo, if you need stuff, email me at [email protected]

This is funny!

Jim saw the doctor today. They took out all the staples and it looks great! Thank you for the prayers and kind thoughts! He's able to do more lifting of his leg than he has in a while. Now we will work on balance!

I have some Berkshire pigs that are ready to harvest. I can sell them as halves or whole. They will be cut to your specifications, and yes, you do get bacon. Berkshires are the only breed that are marbled. And let's face it, marbling is where the flavor is!

Just to keep you updated on Jim. He's feeling much better today. His full time nurses, LeDoux the dog, and Merlin the cat are taking their job very seriously! He is so much stronger now and getting around pretty well. Soon we will reach the "caged animal syndrome". That's when it's hard to keep him inside...it is right around the bend!
Thank you everyone for the kind words and moral support!

Jim is home from the hospital. He's feeling much better! Thank you for all the support and good wishes!

****Update****
Jim had surgery last night. He is feeling much better! Jamie and Josh have been amazing in helping me. Thank you everyone for your concern, and thoughts and prayers. Hopefully he will see you soon!

Jim's hip started bothering him again. He's in the ER, and has an MRI scheduled for first thing in the morning, so we won't be at market today. I'm sorry for the late notice, we gad no idea this would be the plan.

Due to many reasons and after a lot of soul searching, Jim and I have decided to bow out of the Vallejo Farmer's Market. We will be there this Saturday, but it will be our last. We meant to give a lot more notice, but we were under the impression that we had until the end of the month. That information was incorrect.
If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected] or text me at 25 759-4377. We do have some options for you.
This decision did not come easy, we have enjoyed our years at this market, and are so thankful for the support that you have given us over the years and the friendships that we have paved.
Please keep in touch,
Jim and Eileen
