☀️🐾 HOT WEATHER REMINDER 🐾☀️
As temperatures rise, please remember that cars heat up fast — even with the windows cracked. Leaving pets in vehicles for “just a few minutes” can quickly become dangerous and even life-threatening.
🐶 Brachycephalic (short-nosed), overweight, senior, and young pets are especially at risk for heatstroke.
🚗 On an 85° day, the inside of a car can reach over 100° in just 10 minutes.
🌳 Shade and cracked windows do very little to keep your pet safe.
If you’re running errands, the safest choice is to leave your furry friends at home where they can stay cool and comfortable. 💙
If you ever suspect heatstroke in your pet, contact your veterinarian immediately. Signs can include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Weakness or collapse
• Vomiting
• Bright red gums
Stay safe and help us spread awareness this summer!
