June is National Pet Preparedness Month, and it's a great reminder to take a few minutes to make sure you're prepared:
🐾 Keep ID tags and microchip information up to date (We cannot preach this enough for a multitude of reasons!)
🐾 Have at least a week's worth of food and medications on hand
🐾 Store vaccination records in an easy-to-access location
🐾 Keep carriers, leashes, and pet supplies ready to go
🐾 Know where you can take your pets if you need to evacuate

When disaster strikes, there's enough to worry about. A little planning now can help keep your furry family members safe when it matters most. 🥰

It's been brutally hot here in NC, so Beau decided to cool off with a pup cup from a local ice cream shop over the weekend! 🍦🐾

This handsome 3-year-old Heeler mix knows how to enjoy the simple things in life. Beau is house-trained, loves his walks, gets along well with other dogs, and is ready to trade pup cups with his foster family for pup cups with a forever family of his own.

While he's enjoying summer treats, what he'd really love is a place to call home. ❤️

Pupdate! 🐾

We just had to share this update on Bear who was adopted around Christmas after stealing hearts at the Clayton Area Runners meeting! We are thrilled to see this boy thriving!

"Bear is absolutely thriving and living his BEST life… and yes, he is beyond spoiled 😂

He’s officially a diva now — refuses to lay on hard surfaces unless we put down a towel or blanket (excuse me, sir??). And despite having a very fancy dog bed, he prefers sleeping in our bed like the king he clearly believes he is.

Also… he has found his voice. Not barking — oh no — full-on husky-style conversations. If he disagrees? He’ll argue. If he’s bored? He’ll complain. If he wants attention? He will absolutely tell you about it until you comply. It’s like living with a very fluffy, very dramatic roommate who always has something to say 😂

He’s obsessed with belly rubs and will literally fall asleep if I use my facial roller on his forehead… which feels a little extra, but honestly, he deserves it

He’s also developed a refined taste for doggy ice cream and Starbucks pup cups — so basically, he’s living better than most people.

His favorite toys are his red ball and soccer ball, and he will not share them — instead, he’ll grab one, make eye contact, and then talk trash while running away so we have to chase him. It’s a whole performance.

He’s now the official office mascot, and everyone is completely in love with him. Unfortunately, so is everyone’s snack drawer… he’s gained a little “love weight” from all the treats, so I had to gently cut the staff off 😂

And the beach? Ohhhh… he LOOOOOOVES the beach. Like, full main-character energy.

He really is such a fantastic dog — we adore him ❤️"

Alfie had found his forever home a few weeks ago, but he recently got neutered so vetting is complete and the adoption is official! ❤️

At just under a year old and 31 pounds, Peanut is the perfect medium-sized companion. This sweet Cattle Dog/Carolina Dog mix loves other dogs, enjoys her walks, appreciates a good belly rub, and is starting to discover how much fun toys can be. She even got to experience her first brewery visit today!

Peanut has a gentle, loving personality and is looking for a family of her own to bond with. She's the kind of dog who just wants to be loved and included. Because she gains confidence from other dogs and enjoys their company so much, she'd love a canine friend in her future home.

Peanut does have some vision limitations - she seems to be a bit farsighted - but she navigates her world well and doesn't let it slow her down. She's healthy, fully vetted, and ready to start her next chapter.
