I've had a few instances of clients flying down the driveway. This has happened while my children are playing outside. I have several signs asking people to please go slow. I'd rather you be 5 seconds late than speed down the drive. It's always ok if you're a little late as I'd prefer everyone be safe going slow down the road and drive. I may have to consider getting speed bumps put in if this continues. Thank you all for your understanding.

I didn't know I desperately wanted a black lab until I met Sprout and did a de-shed on her the other day. She was so sweet and look at her adorable little face 🥹😍

I just want to take a moment to share the side effects of altering dogs that may get blamed on your groomer.

➡️ Fur texture thins and changes
➡️ Skin problems can arise
➡️ Anxiety and noise sensitivity may increase
➡️ Joint and bone health may decrease

Sometimes grooming can expose these issues and unfortunately, groomers often get blamed for causing the anxiety and skin and fur changes. I've seen puppies go from very happy and well adjusted, to anxious shortly after getting fixed, especially if they are fixed too young. I just want people to know that I do my best to keep anxiety low and am very gentle with your dogs so as not to cause joint pain. I use high quality products so skin and fur can be as healthy as possible, but there will still be changes that occur after altering that I can only mitigate so much. It's important to talk about these side effects with your vet so you can be as educated and aware as possible. Unfortunately, I've seen many clients get blindsided with these issues and while I know vets love your pets very much, they aren't always the best communicators; they wanted to work with animals for a reason lol. I hope this information helps and if possible, delaying altering may be very beneficial for your dog's growth and health.

For the past couple of years, we've been cooking for Doug. He would pick at every brand of kibble we tried to feed him. His skin was irritated and his fur was thinning terribly. We decided to try cooking for him, but it's a lot of work trying to make sure they get all of the necessary nutrients, so we've been using Dr Harvey's pre-mix. All you add is meat and oil, like coconut or fish oil and you can rest assured your dog is getting all their nutrients. This is not an ad, I just think it's a great product and Doug's coat is beautiful and shiny again and his skin looks great! I've noticed a little more spunkiness in him too. I'll add a link in case anyone is interested in trying something new, in case your dog is uninterested in kibble or struggling with health issues. Food is a great basis and a diverse gut microbiome is important for doggos too. Doug loves it and I've really noticed a difference in him!

I had to say goodbye to another one of my longtime good boys. Jax came to see me about 6 years ago and he really struggled with his first groom with me. He bit at everything, the water, the dryer, the clippers, the scissors, but I didn't give up on him. He needed to be groomed by someone so he wouldn't get matted and uncomfortable so I took on the challenge. When he came to my new shop, the quiet atmosphere really made a difference and I was able to mostly do his groom without a muzzle. For years, it was almost impossible to make his face look good, but he finally got to a point where he would let me do everything. He is so special to me and I can't believe he's gone. I'm so glad I could be his groomer for the majority of his life.

RIP Jax, you'll always have a special place in my heart ❤️
