Sadly, little dogs like Brownie are often horribly matted before finding themselves surrendered or abandoned. Failure to keep up with grooming can result in terrible matting that becomes extremely painful cutting into the skin and creating sores, infections, and sometimes even maggots especially in the summer months.

For neuter surgery, we have to find the you-know-whats! So while here having the best nap of his life today, we shaved him down as best we could to provide some immediate relief until he can get a real bath/groom after recovering from surgery.

What we lacked in professional grooming skills, we made up for with a FREE spazzy new coat from our Re-Tail Store. Isn't he soooo handsome???

Brownie was adopted from Montgomery County Animal Care & Control, and we wish him & his new family a lifetime of happiness!!! Look at the small gems you can find at a shelter or rescue near you!!

URGENT: DONATION DRIVE for DRY CAT FOOD, which is in desperate need of replenishment to continue serving our community. Our pet food bank distributes about 40,000 lbs. of dry pet food & litter annually to low income pet owners. Dry cat food is always depleted the quickest, and we've been hit really hard the last couple of weeks.

Here are some simple DONATION TIPS to help:

3) ANY brands are acceptable!

4) Bags under 25 lbs. work best for us as it's often difficult for our elderly & disabled clientele to handle bigger bags. Smaller bags also give us flexibility to help more families when resources are limited.

5) Stock up & donate when you find good sales or coupons.

6) Become a regular donor by picking up an extra bag of food when you shop for your own pets.

7) Organize a "pet food drive" through an employer, birthday party, youth group, neighbors, etc.

8) If your pets are finicky eaters, don't toss opened bags of pet food. The Humane Society will find a use for it so long as it's been safely stored & arrives in original packaging.

Donations can be dropped off anytime during office hours: Monday thru Saturday 9am-2pm. We are located at 940 Tennessee Ave. directly behind Arby's on Riverside Dr. Same address can be used for online orders!

This pup's mama lucked out last week when she found a stylish, perfectly fitting coat in our Re-Tail Store for her baby who was happy to show it off with a cute pose (for a treat). The store is open today from 10 AM to 2 PM, so come on by to see what treasures you might find. Our small-but-mighty store offers new and gently used pet supplies for just a fraction of retail pricing! 

The Humane Society is not funded by the city or county, so 100% of retail proceeds benefit Humane Society programs and services.🥰

Another food donation drive... this one for pets AND the people who love them! If you are in a position to help, please do!

‼️FOOD DRIVE‼️

We have teamed up with Shady Pines Vintage Market and Mikaela's Mutt Motel to start collecting non-perishable goods for a canned food drive for PEOPLE AND PETS!!!!

✨From October24th to November 23rd
Items can be dropped off at: Shady Pines Vintage Market at 1618 Ft Campbell Blvd with a donation station inside for drop off!

🐾Pet food items needed: cat/kitten, dog/puppy wet and dry food including litter, treats and cleaning supplies with items being donated to the Humane Society of Clarksville - Montgomery County Pet Food Bank

🥫People food items needed: canned vegetables & fruits, proteins, pasta, rice, cereal, flour, oil, snacks, beans, and shelf stable milk with items being donated to Yaipak and Manna Cafe Ministries

❣️We will be donating the items weekly to each location for dispursement!!

We are SO appreciative of Family Pet Hospital and Tiny Town Animal Clinic for hosting this pet food donation drive to help us restock our pet food bank, which has been hit hard the last couple of weeks!

The Humane Society’s Pet Food Bank has been in existence since 2003 helping low income families (or those enduring temporary hardships) offset pet food expenses. This important program helps keep pets OUT of the shelter and with the families who love them. We serve about 600 families annually and rely 100% on donations from our community, which includes huge donation drives like these!! We’re collecting dog food, cat food, and cat litter this week to benefit the Humane Society’s Pet Food Bank. Donations can be dropped off at Family Pet Hospital or Tiny Town Animal Clinic. Thank you for helping us support pets in need.🐾🐶🐱

We are here for the 3rd Annual Multi-Rescue Trunk-or-Treat & Donation Drive!, RAIN OR SHINE, til 4pm today!!

We are decorated & ready for tomorrow's (Sun 10/26) 3rd Annual Multi-Rescue Trunk-or-Treat & Donation Drive! from 2pm-4pm, rain or shine. There are 10 rescue organizations along with Surfside Sips & MI Coney setting up in our parking lot for your family's trunk or treating pleasure. Don't forget to make a quick stop inside the Humane Society, too, for a few more treats. A donation collection point will be set up in the lobby for pet food, litter, gently used pet supplies, & Spay It Forward monetary donations, which will be matched up to $1,000!

EVENT PARKING IS LOCATED AT THE CHURCH PARKING LOT across the intersection. There is NO PARKING on the road directly in front of our building as it serves as a sometimes busy access point for 7 Brews coffee located behind us.
