If you’re looking for Prince Charming- this isn’t him.

BUT, I do promise you that this villain WILL give you all his love and devotion if you treat him right!

Harvey is still looking for his home. IT IS NOT HERE 🤣

After over a year in the shelter.
He came to us very angry and heartworm positive
He got his GED in obedience.
He now has a clean bill of health - and no 🏀

Harvey is naughty.
Ok, sometimes he’s just plain bad.
But he’s manageable.
And when he find someone he clicks with- he’s such a loveable goof.

I’ve been so lucky to see the good boy that he can be.
See him make good choices.
Watched him learn from the bad ones.

He needs a home that understands that he will never be the “pack” type of dog. That he needs a person that will hold him accountable and always help him keep learning.

Harvey is available for adoption through Habersham County Animal Shelter

He is housebroken, loves car rides, dog friendly with friendly dogs (we need to make sure we aren’t around “high value resources”. )

He tolerates my ridiculous requests like ballet in Tutus on Wednesday . Because that’s the kind of guy he is.

He loves his people. He needs to find them. ⏰r

Many folks were very concerned about the beagle hit by a car posted on VOH this morning.

Officers were able to respond and get him to the veterinarian for assessment. Thank you to Clarkesville Veterinary Hospital for working him in so quickly.

Unfortunately he has very extensive pelvic fractures and is in alot of pain, despite the pain medication prescribed (he had more medications than listed on his invoice- but we had those on hand at the shelter). It will be awhile before we will know if the injuries have caused him to be inconenient. As of now, he is on strict cage rest and multiple medications.

He was wearing a VERY clean new looking collar and has incredibly trimmed nails.
This is somebody’s dog.
He needs to be with his family.
His family needs to be there for him.

PLEASE if you can help we have already have spent a good amount of money to have him assessed - and we need some help making sure that we can continue to provide care to the animals in our county and be good stewards of the taxpayers money at the same time. Clarkesville Vet can accept donations towards his invoice directly or they can also be made at the shelter. We know it may seem like a small bill, but the “small extras” add up fast- especially as we near the end of the fiscal year.

If you have found a pet:

1. Ensure Safety:

2. Check for ID:
Carefully examine the pet for any collar tags or other identification with contact information.
3. Microchip Scan:
If no tags are found, take the pet to a veterinarian, animal shelter, or a pet supply store (like Petco or Pet Smart) to scan for a microchip.
4. Report the Find:
Local Animal Shelters: Contact your local animal shelter and report the found pet. They may have records of missing pets and can help facilitate a return.

This week our featured mutt is HARVEY! 🥰🥰

Harvey is a special boy looking for a special home. He’s large, (thinks he’s) in charge and promises to always keep you on your toes!

Harvey is ready for same day adoption- but we’d be more than happy to do a “joint custody” situation with a potential home to help ease everyone into the new life! 🤣🤣
