Clarendon College Ranch Horse Team

Clarendon College Ranch Horse Team Ranch horse is a competition that pushes you to improve both horse and rider, and do the best not only for yourself but for your team as well.

There are four parts the ranch horse competitions and they are: reining, trail, pleasure, and cow work. In reining you must teach your horse to change leads on command, come to a sliding stop, be able to change and maintain speeds, spin, and complete a pattern in front of a judge. In trail your horse must be able to go over or through any obstacle put in front you. You must be able to jump over an

In pleasure you must be able to keep your horse calm and take him through a variety of speeds while staying in the correct lead. I would like to start off by greatly thanking Holly Irish for giving me the opportunity and letting me ride Katie (Katie Dun Dunit) and letting us show together at my first show in Amarillo at the NIRSHA show. Thank you for everything you’ve done for the ranch horse team and I!!

Katie was given a Clarendon College Ranch Horse Team by a generous donor. She has become a valuable asset to our program by allowing students who don’t have a show horse to participate in shows. We also let students step in her to figure out what they are trying to feel for in their own horses.
