“Hey buddy are you a cowboy?” “Yeah” 🤷🏼♀️
2 yr old on Miss Calypso. Absolutely love this mare’s mind and can’t wait to have her in the show pen. After a hard workout she slows right down and packs the W6 Farms grandkids around. (No she’ll never be for sale sorry 😉)
Come see us in September for the MRHA show!
Mr. Bullet really struggled with the bit and learning how to give his face. When he would feel any pressure in his mouth he would make a big scene and the world nearly ended. Very dramatic little horse. But today we had a huge breakthrough! We had to go back to the basics and learn what it means to collect up and be soft in the face. This video was at the end of our session, as soon as he feels me ask for his face he gives it to me immediately. Really starting to love this little guy!
I’ve always said it’s not how MUCH you can get away with on a horse, it’s how LITTLE you can get away with. “Bullet” was extremely stiff in his neck and was very reluctant to flex. If you watch the clip on his lead you can see that I’m only flexing my pinky finger to get him to flex for me. This made our second ride today so much more enjoyable for the both of us. I have very high hopes for this horse.

An example of what we can do in just 30 days!
When this horse came to me, he would rather run you clean over and eat you for breakfast than do anything that was asked of him. On his ride to the barn he almost jumped his way out of his owners trailer! He would dig to China when he was tied and had a horrible trust issue with people. He would strike fear into the people who loved him most. He was flat out mean and dangerous. This 6 year old was barely halter broke let alone ready to be broke to ride.
This video was after his 3rd ride. Not many of them have the mind to hop on bareback when they’re this green. This horse came full circle. He would stand tied for hours like a gentleman and stand ground tied in the center of the arena while I worked other horses. He eventually developed an entire different personality and turned into a big teddy bear. First to the gate every single day, ready to ride. I was very comfortable sending him home to his owners knowing he would take care of their teenage daughter.
Contact me if you have a horse like this and need some help!
At Ramblin’ Roan we put time into each horse differently and do NOT push them if they can’t handle it. We make a point to connect with them and train their mind along with their body!
