Chilling calm in her kennel before bed with 4 other dogs in the room!!! This didnt happen over night! Waited 7 weeks to bring her upstairs. And started with 1 dog in the room. No meeting that dog and sometimes not even acknowledging they are there. There was some scratching at the kennel door when I would leave the room, but redirectable with an "ey-ey". This am she saw sesi in yhe round bed and we stopped and admired from about 4ft. Sasha's tail was tucked most of the time, but no face to face greetings. Just learning to see and move on. Now sleeping through the night and not waking me up at 3am because she all by herself. She is calm till it is her turn to go out in the am!
Good girl sasha!!!

First walk on our stomping grounds since my surgery in December. Was a very slow 2 laps, was thankful for Django's pace, but also makes me sad that he has slowed down so much!

Dogs were happy to stretch their legs after a bit of a chaotic afternoon with me coming to get them and thunderstorms and loud helicopters, and then having to spend a few hours in the truck and more thunderstorms as I had to go back to work. Was nice for the dogs to get the jitters out with a walk before coming back to the house for dinner.

Blue, named for his big blue eyes, is a 2-year-old neutered GWP/GSP. Blue has a big loving heart and wants to love life, but going from an indoor concrete kennel from the house he was seized at to the shelter for 4 months didn't help his confidence in the outdoor world. He had no training, showed no signs of knowing basic commands, and almost everything was new to him. When he left the shelter to go to his foster, everything was new. Thankfully, his foster has been exposing him to all the good in life, and he is learning that things are not so scary.

Blue, or Blueberry as his foster has been calling him, is doing very well with his foster and his foster brother Beans, who is a middle-aged GSP. He is remaining pretty easy to live with. His worst habits right now are barking at lots of sounds he doesn't recognize, but he will quit when redirected, and this is becoming less and less, but an apartment setting is still probably not the best fit for him. He is very easy to walk on a leash, even a long leash. No pulling and not that much stop and sniff.

He does have some resource guarding over specialty treats, so should be fed separately, otherwise doesn't seem to mind the company of another chill dog. Blue probably would be best in a one dog home, but with slow introduction he would be fine in a home with another chill dog. Not a dominant guy, just doesn't know too many doggy signals. When out on trails he tends to give other dogs a wide berth. He ahs met single dogs on trails and multiple dogs at a time. He and the other dog sniffed politely and ignored each other for most of the rest of the time. He's almost dog neutral, but will move away from excited ones.

He is really a fairly easy dog to have around, and I think most anyone would be lucky to have him. Blue is a lovey, affectionate fella who deserves to be loved back and shown that the world has fun wonderful things in it he could enjoy. With time, I am confident that Blue would really come out of his shell and be an absolutely wonderful companion, he just needs a bit of extra help, and reassurance along his path there.

Sasha's weekend at the HerUpland camp was alot for her, but she did great overall! Really made lots of strides in her recall, feeling comfortable running in the fields, getting in water, being around up to 14+ other dogs and starting out scared and shaking to being able to move past them within 20yrds with an easy "Sasha leave it" command, be on a tie out alone and across from another dog, meeting lots of new people and asking for pets!
Unfortunately if you watch to the end you see me doing some redlight therapy on her as she came up completely lame on the last day on her right rear leg. 😑 so she is now on kennel rest for 2 weeks and has a knee xray scheduled for the 10th. Poor girl.
