Bette’s Blues Blueberry Farm is a family farm owned and operated by Willis and Bette Howell. We are a 10 acre u-pick farm dedicated to bringing you the highest quality most delicious blueberries and blackberries imaginable. Come out and visit us and have a fun day in the country as you pick our luscious sun ripened berries at the peak of flavor. Our farm has been completely planned, developed and
maintained by us with perseverance and plenty of “sweat equity”! What better way to experience some fresh air and gorgeous Florida Sunshine while picking the sweetest, juiciest blueberries you ever popped in your mouth! Studies have proven that walks in nature reduce stress and anxiety. Nature always brings balance and peace. You may be blessed to see some of Florida's beautiful native birds and small wildlife. We are very protective of all our wildlife, including the Florida Gopher ( tortoise ). You may get the opportunity to see them in their natural habitat. You will observe their burrows marked off for their protection throughout the farm. We started our farm with the dreams of high dollar commercial blueberry farming in 2007. But, the huge amount of blueberries imported to the US from other countries had already started and by 2013 we decided to go strictly u-pick. We are very grateful we converted to only u-pick blueberries. We have made so many friends and have learned so much about our Community. The support we receive each year from the Community has been overwhelming! And, the pleasure to contribute a fun, safe and healthy place to come with friends, family and children for the residents of Citrus County and our neighboring Counties, has been extremely satisfying. It has been a valuable lesson each year as we continue to learn and adapt to our environment and community needs. We are continuously trying to improve our lovely farm for the better and cannot imagine anything less. Our dream of a beautiful, environmentally friendly, sustainable u-pick blueberry farm is still going strong and will continue to grow each year!
