Wow with the last few months being so busy with showing and sales we’ve definitely neglected to post all about it!
After a week getting to know some of the new horses at hits we headed to Gulfport with Fe Smokey Water FBW, Pilatus Van de Kwade Heyde, Quilmes Cae and Lucinda. Week one was a success with Pilatus jumping his first ever Grand Prix at 7 years old with only 4 faults. Smokey Water also jumped his first Grand Prix coming home with 8 fault. Q and Lucinda jumped great in the amateur classes with Danni Farley. Week 2 proved to be even better with Pilatus jumping to 6th place out of a field of 30 in only his 2nd Grand Prix. Lucinda jumped super with a really unfortunate 4 faults in the classic jump off. Q reinforced his unicorn status winning the Power and Speed along with the Classic on Sunday with Danni in the irons. Our long term client, Joanna and Sarah Gray, also joined us from Oklahoma with their long term partner Cosmic Quantum Ray who jumped super all week improving everyday finalizing in a 5th place in the Classic.
After 2 weeks of rest, we went on to the Florida Horse Park with a great group of horses. Pilatus again jumped the Grand Prix gaining valuable experience that will serve him well in the rest of his career. Danni and Lucinda had a great showing in the 1.15’s growing as a partnership proving to be highly competitive. It was also our first show with our new sales horse Impossible II lovingly known as Nemo. He improved daily gaining confidence and really impressing us with his scope and ability. Laura Szeremi joined us and had great results with her two horses Nanouche and Quatar Z. Jumping clean both weeks finalizing it with incredible clears in the 1.15 and 1.25 classic with both horses showing in my favorite thing, a halter! Andrew Palmer also joined us with two of his lovely eventing stallions who also both jumped great both weeks really working hard to improving their show jumping culminating in two clear rounds on the final day!
Then it was onto Venice for 2 weeks with Lucinda, Impossible II and Pilatus. Lucinda had a great show really proving she still has what it takes jumping amazing in the 1.15 under the guidance of Danni. Impossible really stepped up and again impressed by jumping clean in the 1.25 classic on the final day. Pilatus spent the first week jumping in smaller classes to make sure he was still confident being that he’s only 7 years old it was important to make sure we don’t over face him. He then jumped incredible in the Grand Prix. A green mistake and a little lack of experience being the only thing keeping him out of the ribbons but so many valuable lessons learned.
None of this is possible without the incredible team of people we have behind us. To the owners, vets, farriers and grooms thank you!
Now a quiet couple of weeks at home and then onto Brownland!!
