The following is taken directly from The Illinois Animal Control Act (510 ILCS 5/2.16) (from Ch. 8, par. 352.16)
Sec . 2.16. Owner. “Owner” means any person having a right of property in an animal, or who keeps or harbors an animal, or who has it in his care, or acts as its custodian, or who knowingly permits a dog to remain on any premises occupied by him or her. “Owner” does not include a feral cat caretaker participating in a trap, spay/neuter, vaccinate for rabies, and return program.

Did you know that 1 female cat can have 4-5 litters per year, with an average of 5 kittens per litter? That is 20-25 kittens per year for each female cat!

During our first operational month, we spayed 6 female cats and neutered 1 male cat. 7 more cats are scheduled next week. Great things are happening!
