It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything about Dog Training and today was a moment of reflection with my queen. For folks who don’t know about our lady here, she is an English Lab from the UK. She comes from a bloodline Sachin and I are very honoured to be a part off. Irie ( or Iris or RuRu or Irunee depending on the mood of the moment ) is five years old and rules over the boys like her own. This was taken during our Spring break in Blue Hills in Georgia, and she was slaying her pose while we clicked a few pictures of her.
Our journey with training reflects in nuggets during the day, everyday. Thresholds respected, leash manners always followed, meal time discipline every.single.meal. Courtesy and respect while meeting new people, kids and older people. Ability to hangout on the driveway with zero leash and 100% command strength when the trash is taken out, Mailman driving through and other dogs talking their walk. Irie might not be on a “working “ schedule on an ongoing basis but these little moments where life happens is when it shines through and the noise settles. I always recommend your dog to be trained, it does not mean we need to be a protection dog or a formal K9 on the job but these are where you need it the most, when life happens. Happy to guide and talk to anyone who needs help. When they understand that your baseline expectations don’t change no matter the circumstances, you will see them shine and show up for the task setup for them. Onwards and upwards!
