Shelby Chic a Brief History

Shelby Chic Handmade Gifts was founded in 2016 by Lori Bauer. After making cat bow ties for a local animal shelter, she decided to keep it going and start her own craft business. Cat bow ties get a laugh from a lot of people, but cats really do love them. Shelby, Lori’s cat, is the namesake of the business and is the perfect spokesmodel. Soon, people asked for Dog bow ties as well, so she abliged. Shelby Chic Handmade Gifts continued to grow their handmade product assortment, offering cat toys, glass treat jars for pets, earrings (for people), and various eco-friendly items.

Eco-friendly inniatives are a big deal, so Lori strives to create things that are not only fun, but useful as well. Not all merchandise can be considered eco-friendly, but scrap pieces from one item are salvaged to make another item. Reclaimed wood and other natural materials are also used to create many products.

If you are in the Greater Cincinnati area, you are in the right place to find a craft show or local market where a Shelby Chic booth is set up.
