Hi everyone, it’s Jessie, one of the owners at Wüf! I have some very exciting news to share, Jonny and I are expecting our 3rd baby this fall. Many of you who have been here since the beginning may remember my youngest son, Roman, coming to work with us nearly 7 years ago in June 2019. Roman was born 6 days after we opened Wüf. Starting a business has been the best possible thing for our family, but going back to work 3 days postpartum was a very challenging time in my life. He came with me every day until he was 8 weeks old and big enough to be enrolled in a daycare center. I missed a lot of “firsts”, and lost so much time with my kids. Without working extra hard during this time, Wüf wouldn’t be what it is today. Since opening OTR we have expanded to two locations, hired many employees, and even found a way to offer our team health insurance. It has been such a journey! I share this story because I hope my clients can understand why I’ve made the decision to temporarily step away from grooming, and plan to leave my clients in the best hands with my trusted team of groomers at the salon. I plan to take at least a year off to spend time with our new baby, in hopes I can be kinder to my body, and enjoy those very special first moments. I cannot thank all of our clients enough for supporting Wüf and continuing to do so in my absence. I wasn’t able to take more than a few weeks off with my oldest son either, so it means the world to me to have the stability and opportunity to do what I love most- be a mom. I do not currently have an estimated return date, but I will remain in touch with my clientele to let them know when I will re open my books. As of now all of my medium / large breed dogs are being transitioned to my team, and I’m going to try sticking it out for my dogs 10lbs and under until summer. I will deeply miss grooming during my time at home, and I will definitely be back! Don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.
