Pet safety tips for July 4th weekend

For many pets, July 4th is one of the scariest days of the year. Between booming fireworks and busy backyard BBQs, a lot of pets can get sick or hurt during this holiday.

The best way to keep your pets safe during human festivities is to understand their point of view and be ready to keep them feeling calm and secure.

Signs of anxiety in pets
Your pet may express their anxiety in several different ways.

Panting
Drooling
Pacing
Hiding
Decreased appetite
Abnormal urination or defecation
Dilated pupils
Excessive grooming or yawning
What can you do to keep pets safe during BBQs?

Keep license, microchip and tags up to date
Secure and double check gates and entrances
Store human foods out of sight (and out of reach)
Keep a lid on trash cans
Create a comfort room for your pet during fireworks

Close windows and play calming music or white noise
Stay with pets during fireworks to comfort them
Pets can hear significantly better then we can and fireworks can cause confusion and disorientation for them. Please keep them inside while people are setting off fireworks.

We have officially canceled all surgery and grooming appointments for tomorrow 1/6. Please call the office before heading in to make sure a staff member has made it into the building tomorrow. We do anticipate a later opening time allowing our staff extra time to get into the office. We will continue to provide updates in the morning. Stay safe and warm!

Dear Valued Clients,

Over the last 42 years we have been lucky enough to have you support us at our Madison Road office in O'Bryonville, a space in which we rent. We have been notified by the owner that they will be selling the building. We will be seeing appointments through the end of 2024. Their last day seeing appointments will be on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

This change will not affect our main hospital, located at 8601 Ridge Road in Amberly Village (phone number: 513-821-1101). We are ready to welcome you and we look forward to serving you and your pets here. Many of you have already been to our state of the art facility on Ridge and are familiar what we are able to do. We believe this change will allow our doctors to continue to focus on modern quality care, provide additional surgical availabilities and appointment times for all of our clients. For those of you who have not visited our Ridge Road office we are excited to introduce you to our modern building with ample parking with additional services offered such as surgery, dental care, boarding and grooming to name just a few.

We understand that this change may result in some inconvenience and apologize in advance for any caused. We truly appreciate your 42 years of loyalty at our Madison Road office. We look forward to the oportunity to continue to care for your loved ones at our Ridge Road office in Amberley Village.
