Facebook has brought it to my attention that this page has recently gotten a lot of new traffic.

I have NOT been breeding for the public lately. I closed from the public for awhile to get my bloodlines back to were I want. I brought in a lot of new blood last year and had a few mishaps and regression of some finer points I had been working towards. I had several females turn out to be "baby munchers" and another line that only produced skittish, small sized individuals. I have been VERY particular about my litters lately, only keeping pups that I think are worth holding onto for breeding potential, I have been hard culling anything less than breeding quality, so have had next to NOTHING available to the public ... I have been strictly trading/swapping with fellow breeders for the better part of the last year. I have also been going thru hell and back, losing my mother to cancer, an aunt to dementia, and now maybe a 2nd aunt because of pneumonia and COVID so the mice have taken a back seat lately in my life.

That being said... I DO currently have 6 litters of mice in the nest as of January '22. I will continue to keep litters very small and be very particular about the ones I allow to grow out. I will have **VERY LIMITED** availability around February/March for the general public. Mostly pied individuals, but some may carry potential for Merle and tricolor.

Also, if anyone is interested in developing their merle bloodlines....I'm looking to get rid of an entire Merle/roan breeding colony in order to make more room to concentrate on pied/broken and tricolor lines ... Will not individually adopt them out, must take all 3 females and 1 male....

I HAVE gotten your messages if you have messaged me in the last day or two. I will be getting back to everyone here within the next 24hrs, now that I have reached a day off.

Please be patient with me, and bear in mind I have more than just these mice to keep me busy. I have nearly 100 individual pets in my menagerie to take care of and tend to, a young child, and a full time job. Not to mention this week I have had to face sending my mother back to OSU for more tests after unsuccessful trial treatments in Texas to try to get rid of her Leukemia.

I greatly appreciate your patience and understanding at this time! We still, more than anything, wish to continue bringing you all beautiful, friendly mice and we apologize for nay delays and inconvenience this may bring.

Prue here is fit to burst with her 1st litter any time now! I have her guestimated to deliver on the 24th on my calendar, but I think she may go a bit earlier if these babies grow any bigger!

Harry is the father of this bunch.

These pretty little girls are a mixed batch of Agouti, black, and a single yellow pied. They will be ready to wander off to new homes on May 17th!

Interesting study!

A new study suggests supplementary cocoa powder markedly decreased the severity of dietary induced liver disease in obese mice.

The research reported that mice ingesting cocoa gained weight at 21% lower rate, had less inflammation (assessed by spleen enlargement), 28% less fat in their livers and 56% lower levels of oxidative stress!

Although this study was undertaken primarily for human health interests, I found this a very interesting read to potentially apply to our pet mice and perhaps other rodents! 💕

While we are located in Cincinnati, Ohio, Happy Hippie Mousery is pleased to work with a few small animal transport specialists to get our mice to enthusiasts who live too far to drive and meet up to receive their new mice.

So, it has been brought to my attention that Miley Cyrus has an organization or some such business that she has named "Happy Hippie".

Although she is my 1st cousin 7 times removed, our mousery isn't associated at all with Miley or her brand LOL 😂 I have been using the "Happy Hippie" or "Flower Child" name for my side businesses and interests for years, before the now popular celebrity brand came about. I prefer a 60s/70s aesthetic and have been called a Flower Child since I was a little girl, it has nothing to do with Miley Cyrus. Just a coincidence.

Now I am going to have to name one of my next females "Miley" just because LOL
