Golden Retrievers are one of the most beloved breeds in the world, and for good reason. With their cheerful dispositions, gentle temperaments, and eagerness to please, Goldens are not just family dogs — they are family.

🦴 Breed Basics:
• Group: Sporting
• Size: Medium to large (55–75 lbs)
• Coat: Dense, water-repellent double coat
• Shedding: Oh yes. Year-round with seasonal blowouts
• Temperament: Friendly, loyal, smart, and playful

🛁 Grooming Tips from JSGC:
Golden Retrievers require regular brushing to prevent matting and keep their thick coat in top shape. Their feathering (behind the ears, legs, and tail) is especially prone to tangles.
We recommend professional grooming every 4–6 weeks to manage shedding and keep their coat and skin healthy. Don’t forget those nail trims and ear cleanings — Goldens love water, but their ears can be prone to infection!

Goldens were originally bred in Scotland to retrieve shot waterfowl — which is why they’re obsessed with fetching… literally anything.

We’ve got some pawsome news — and we’ve been waiting for just the right moment to share it! After a very careful search (because we don’t hire just anyone), we’re beyond excited to introduce the newest member of our grooming team: Kadie! 🌟

We held out for the perfect fit — someone with serious skills, a love for animals, and a personality that vibes with our team. And trust us, Kadie was worth the wait.

🎓 Kadie began her grooming career after graduating from Animal Arts Academy in 2010, and she’s been creating beautiful, confident pups ever since. She’s worked in everything from private salons to corporate chains, but found her heart belongs in a cozy, tight-knit salon like ours — one that puts quality and care first.

🐩 Her grooms? Flawless. Just check out the before-and-after pics below 👇📸 Every transformation she does is polished, precise, and full of personality. Whether it’s a breed-specific trim or a total glow-up, Kadie’s work speaks for itself — and we’re obsessed. 😍
