It’s commonly known that Poodles and many doodles do not shed. Did you know that also means higher maintenance grooming needs that will require regular bathing and brushing to prevent their coats from becoming tangled and matted? Why? The curly hair that doesn’t shed also holds dirt and tangles very easily. Dogs that shed, also shed dirt. Some of the doodle coats have a much thicker coat than poodles and vary in texture which causes this to be even more concern. Regular bathing and brushing using top notch moisturizing products aids to prevent this. If your wanting your pup to enjoy grooming and look and feel great. Regular brushing, bathing and blow drying should become a routine. The more routine it becomes the easier it will be for your pup and your stylist. You don’t have to get your pups hair trimmed every time, perhaps consider getting a bath and brush appointment between haircuts. This will go a long way in preventing tangles from forming.
Your pup will thank you that the grooming process isn’t an uncomfortable session involving tangles and matted hair. The last thing I want to do is make your pup feel tortured by brushing out tangles, adding a lot of stress to the grooming session. 💕
