Friendly reminder for anyone camping with their pets this weekend 🏕️🐾

Please make sure your pets are up to date on flea/tick prevention — we’ve been seeing a high number of tick exposures and tick borne disease is prevelant in our area.

If your campground requires a copy of your pet’s health certificate/vaccines, you can conveniently access and download these through the Vello app!

Temps are going to rise today! ☀️ This is a friendly reminder to keep your pets safety in mind.

• Never leave pets in a parked car — not even for a minute
• Walk early morning or late in the evening to avoid hot pavement and higher temps
• Always provide fresh water & shade. Don’t leave pets out more than a few minutes.
• Watch for signs of overheating: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, seizures and/or collapse, bright red or really pale mucous membranes,
• If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
• Brachycephalic or “Smushed face” breeds (frenchies/boxers/pugs etc..) senior pets, puppies and double coated pets are more prone to overheating

We have new tenants again this year! 😊 This time she upgraded her interior decorating skills of her nest to compliment the color of her eggs!🪺🩵

Fun fact: Robin’s eggs famous bright blue-green color is due to a pigment called, biliverdin, that is in the female's blood, which is deposited on the shell as it is laid. This pigment, biliverdin, is the same substance that makes human bruises appear greenish-blue!

Mental Health Matters in VetMed. Veterinary medicine is built on compassion —While incredibly rewarding, this type of work also comes with a lot of emotional challenges. Every day, veterinary teams help guide families through high emotions, difficult decisions, unexpected situations, financial concerns, worry, and intense moments — all while working tirelessly to provide the best possible care for the pets we love so dearly.

This Mental Health Awareness Month is a good time to remind one another of how important support, balance, and mental well-being are. We're encouraging kindness, support, and appreciation for the people who care for animals every day💙
