A woman came into our clinic with a kitten in terrible condition that she had found on her ranch. She suspected that some strays must be having litters, as she recently felt the need to drown a previous batch of sickly kittens. The poor kitten in the video was found alone on her property and asked Dr. Shannon if she should dispatch this one the same way (As her husband refused to shoot the kitty…).
Dr. Shannon immediately had the owner relinquish the kitten to her care, and now we have the long journey of regaining her health. Here is the first moments of her home with us starting this recovery. Does she have eyes? There is too much infection happening to know at this point, but antibiotics are now onboard and we’re getting her eating to gain strength. The discharge and crust will be removed shortly to further assess the condition of both eyes, and fingers crossed something in there is savable!
Regardless, this beautiful kitten is the newest addition to Ronin Ridge Animal Sanctuary, and we’ve decided on the final name of Peepers! Welcome home, Peepers! =)
