Training horses can often be a fast paced and high pressure environment. There’s deadlines and things that need to be accomplished. However, around here we try not to let that influence the way we work with the horses. Rushing through tacking up and trying to jump on and go often only starts the ride for the horses in an anxious and disassociated way. Here’s your Monday reminder that even when we’re in a rush to get on and go because there are things to do and places to be, a simple deep breath, a couple minutes of walking, and a mindful warm up can turn a rushed ride into a ride that actually accomplishes something.

Attached is a video of a 3 year old we had in to start last summer, enjoying some of the slower confidence building work we like to mix into our rides!

This page and my personal page have been kept fairly quiet for quite some time now. While not entirely on purpose and there has still been a lot going on behind the scenes we have not shared, we chose to embrace a slower, more intentional pace during the colder, shorter days. Winter is traditionally a time to slow down, rest, and reset, similar to how nature goes dormant. While my schedule was nothing short of unoccupied, I’ve kept things mostly off social media to take time to reflect, work on myself, the horses, and the program we are working so hard to build.

As warmer, longer days approach, my days in the barn are getting longer again and my training and lesson schedule is filling quickly for the year. If you are interested in training or lessons, now would be the time to reach out to see what is still available!

Along with this is a few exciting updates we can’t wait to share! The first thing we’ve been working on is our partnership with Ranch Ethic to make Rollin’ Red Equine Apparel available to you guys at any time. The link is already live and features hoodies, crewnecks, quarter zips, long sleeves, tees, and joggers in two different colors. Youth sizing is available as well.

The link to shop at anytime is:

As always, thank you all for your continued support. Here’s to making 2026 another best year yet!

Matching frosty faces for Diesel and I this past weekend🥶

As we’ve navigated this extreme cold and look forward to another few days of it, we have some tips to share for those who still are having to spend most of their time outside in this weather or would like to know how to stay warmer moving forward:
• Heated clothing (especially heated socks) are definitely worth the money
• Wearing a pair of latex/surgical gloves under your normal gloves can help keep your hands warmer
• Layering neck wraps (like a wild rag and a neck gator) keeps your neck warm and allows you to keep your face covered
• Wildson Mountain Good Hoods are also a new favorite around here. It’s a neck gator/hood combo that has a hood big enough to fit over a helmet if you’re riding outside in cold weather.

We hope everyone continues to stay warm as we navigate the rest of this cold weather! Our day to day right now is making sure the horses have plenty of forage, warm water, and stay comfortable, but we will be back to work in the arena 🔜

Today my heart is especially full…
While there are many business and horse related updates missing from this page recently, we are going to push those off a little longer to make this post instead today.
Thanksgiving always brings me back to the simple truths of this lifestyle. How much it asks of us and how much it gives in return. Horses have a way of grounding us, humbling us, and filling our days with moments that matter, even when no one else is watching.
I’m thankful for the horses who meet us with honesty every single ride, who teach us patience, softness, and resilience.
Thankful for the students who work hard, trust the process, and show up with heart, even on the tough days.
Thankful for families who believe in what we do here and allow me to be part of their journey.
Thankful for the kids who remind me why we start this life in the first place, just because we love it.
Thankful for the friends, clients, barn family, and supporters who cheer from the stands, the rail, or miles away.
This year, my gratitude stretches beyond the shiny moments. I’m thankful for:
• the quiet sunrise feedings
• the small victories only we notice
• the lessons or skills that take months to click
• the laughter shared in the barn aisle
• the trust built day by day
• the horses who change us for the better
From us to you, I hope today brought you warmth, rest, good food, and the company of people who make your life richer.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who ride alongside me, both near and far.
Your support, trust, and presence mean more than I can ever say. 💕

🌟 Monday Mindset Tip 🌟

Instead of using the words “have to,” start using the words “get to” and see how quickly your outlook on life changes. Gratitude turns obligations into opportunities.

Appreciate the things you get to do everyday - they’re privileges not everyone gets the chance to experience.

Just like I “get to” ride horses outside on a cold and windy fall morning🥶😆

SOLD

EH SUNSHINE N WHIZSKY, “Skye”
10 y/o, 14.3 HH, AQHA/Arabian Registered Bay Mare
Finished WSCA, All-Around Potential

“Skye” has done a little bit of everything and is ready to take a new rider to the next level. She is finished on all of the WSCA patterns, winning many high point awards over the years and placing in the top 10 at Champ Show on numerous occasions. She has dabbled in the English and Western Pleasure world, shown trail, started in reining, and has been to a few high school rodeos. Solid 3D/4D barrel horse and would make a great pole bending horse with some reintroduction to the pattern. Trail rides alone or with others. Good for vet and farrier, bathes and clips, easy to catch, etc. Very well-mannered mare with no gate issues, and would be a great youth step up horse for a confident rider. No maintenance other than front shoes in the summer.

Owner moved away for school and would like to see her be someone’s main priority again. PPE welcome at buyers expense.

Minty boy has been busy in the Ranch Riding show pen this summer with a different rider, but I got a chance to hop on him over the weekend for the first time since early Spring. We made sure to put some of his skills to the test!

Comment below ⬇️ when you see what’s missing. A fun little video of this ride will be posted tomorrow!

Our F A V O R I T E 🤩 kind of updates to receive!

A couple of the RRE lesson kids had a fabulous showing at the Scandia Riders Game Show last weekend, bringing home ribbons and prizes! And, most importantly, new memories.
We are so proud of the hard work these kids continue to put in each week and are always so grateful when they get to see it pay off!
