The winner will be featured on a limited-edition craft beer label with our friends at the Brewing Projekt —all while supporting homeless animals at ECCHA and in our community.

Entering is simple: just submit your favorite photo of your pet along with a short description of what makes them special. Then, rally your friends! The community will vote for the top dog (or cat, or bunny—we love them all!) to crown the winner of the Inaugural contest. The top 3 pets with the most votes will win gift cards and prize baskets!

Pet didn’t place in the top 3? That’s OK! ECCHA & Brewing Projekt Staff will choose their collective favorite in the WILDCARD category to win an ECCHA merch and Brewing Projekt Merch item of their choice!

🐾 World Zoonosis Day – July 6th 🐾

Today we raise awareness about zoonotic diseases & illnesses that can spread from animals to humans. Even our beloved household pets can carry parasites that pose risks to both them and us!

🩺 Signs Your Pet Might Have Parasites
• Scooting or dragging rear end
• Vomiting or diarrhea (sometimes with visible worms)
• Weight loss despite eating normally
• Dull coat or itchy skin
• Visible worms in stool or around the a**s
• Lethargy or bloated belly (especially in puppies/kittens)

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Why It Matters:
Some parasites are zoonotic, meaning they can infect humans — especially children, seniors, or people with weakened immune systems.

✅ Prevention Tips:
• Use vet-recommended parasite prevention
• Clean litter boxes and pick up dog waste regularly
• Wash hands after handling pets or their waste
• Regular deworming and vet check-ups
