Update... I got discharged at 10:45 pm.last night. Home sweet Home.❣️

Life sometimes throws you curve balls! I had a huge one on Monday morning. I had to call all my clients to pick up right after dropping off as I was violently ill.
Ended up in ER with CT scan that showed I had a small umbilical hernia with an obstructed piece of small intestine stuck. I had Emergency surgery Monday night and am still in the hospital.
Needless to say this is going to change appointments on the books. Please bare with me as I navigate through this. I have some ideas and need to talk to some groomer friends who may be able to help you all out until I can get back.

Tootsie is a 2 year-old Teddy Bear (Bichon/Sh*tzu mix) weighing 16 lbs. Due to health changes in my household—specifically my husband's advancing Alzheimer's—it has become necessary to find a more suitable, active environment for our small dog. She is a wonderful, high-energy companion who loves to fetch, go on walks, just playing in general She is house-trained/crate-trained and up-to-date on vaccinations, she’s chipped and spayed. She would thrive in a home that can provide the dedicated activity she needs. I can provide her vet records and photos if you are serious. I am located in the EC area.

Your Sweet Soul sang to mine❣️Such a soft sweet happy silly girl! Life can be so cruel and unfair. I am so devastated I don't even know where to start. In the end we really never had a choice.
RYE spent two days at the University of Madison Veterinary ER in critical care. We know she had a pneumonia and some type of mass in her chest. Basically supportive care until we could get a CT on Monday today. In the end Rye had a massive abscess in her chest cavity on top of her lung which involved the lower lobe of the right lung. Option crack her chest open remove the abscess remove the lower right half of her lung and face a very long prolonged hard recovery. Because of the pneumonia in her lungs they were not sure they could successfully get her off the respirator and breathing on her own would be possible. The only thing she really had going for her was her age being young. In the end I could not in good conscience do that to her and made the choice to say goodbye. Theory... she may have inhaled some type of seed through her nasal passage which got lodged in her lung and caused a massive infection/ abscess They told me that this had not happened in the past week two weeks but had been brewing for a very long time. These dogs are so stoic and brave. She may have been two points shy but she was my champion and my Rye Rye.
