Let's take a moment to celebrate an incredible journey. Cali has officially graduated from my program, and what a remarkable horsewoman she has become! Starting her adventure at just 13, she has shown tremendous dedication while training her two horses through weekly lessons.

Derby, an old brood mare with a challenging past, has blossomed thanks to Cali's gentle guidance. Once explosive and defensive, Derby has now shed her traumas, emerging as a lovely saddle horse who embraces her new life. It’s been heartwarming to witness Derby move past her struggles and truly shine.

Then there's Sassy, who was 10 months old when we started, who is now approaching four years old. Cali has laid a fantastic foundation for her, both emotionally and physically, preparing Sassy for more advanced training under saddle. Currently, Cali has introduced her to under-saddle work, completing around six walk-trot rides. It's exciting to see Sassy find a dedicated trainer now, who will focus on fine-tuning her skills as Cali prepares to take her further into competition training.

When we first met, Cali was shy and withdrawn, but now, at nearly 17, she has transformed into an extraordinary young lady and horsewoman. While working with me on her two horses, she also attended additional riding lessons at another barn, honing her skills as both a rider and horseman.

Through the nurturing of her traumatized mare and the development of her young filly into her dream horse, Cali has truly blossomed. She has learned about leadership, established strong boundaries, enhanced her awareness and mindfulness, and improved her communication and nervous system regulation. The hard work she invested has paid off, turning her and her horses into a cohesive team.

I am deeply grateful to have witnessed the growth and transformation of all three. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for Cali and Sassy as they venture into whatever competition discipline she chooses. Here's to the bright future that awaits them!

Ross Jacobs just said what everybody needs to hear.

"I have learned that a person can be a good rider without being a good horse person. A person can be a successful horse breeder and not be a good horse person. A person can be a blue ribbon competitor in any discipline you wish to name and not be a good horse person. But a person can’t be good at horsemanship and not be a good horse person."

This is a 5-year-old Mustang that was taken off the range in a very violent way and his first owners were abusive with him. He was super hard to catch and reactive to everything that the human does. He has a serious right eye issue I've been working on when I first met him you could not even go in his right eye at all that he know and he still will position you out of it. He's a work in progress.

Its time to change how we approach horses. There is a lot of good in traditional horsemanship, natural horsemanship, R+ horsemanship, freedom based and connections based horsemanship. I use all the good i have learned so far from everyone one of those methods. I also learned from some of the not so good parts and toss those out. Horses are all different and require different conversations at different times.

My tool box is full of methods and ideas that I can pull from for the horses needs. However I always start with conversation and ask "how are you today?" They will all tell yeah, but do we listen? Truly listen...?

I have a conversation thats two sided. I give the horse chance to talk then ask that they give me a chance. They tell us with body language, expression, breathing, blinking, skin tightnes, foot falls, movement, gate, energy, ears, eyes and more. Thats thier words. They need to be heard as they never really shut up. Its a balance and alignment a horse desires. Leadership with strength and language both human and horse can understand. Nervous sytem regulation is skipped over by most and that can create big problems down the road.

This guy is learning to look to humans for the comfort he needs not just horses friends.

The ride starts way before you get on.

Distraction is a tool I use to reach the mind of the horse. Many focus on the body or move in the feet to get attention. Distraction pulls the mind away for a moment and the nervous system settles. He has anxiety about the girls on the fence. His feet are in the round pen but his mind is outside the round pen playing with the girls. This creates anxiousness in horses. Trying to train a c**t while his mind is not in the room will give you a hand full. I want to educate him about regulating his anxiety before training training him. Side note. He was also very hard to catch. Two sessions of solid communication fixed that. Video of that coming soon.

These two have grown together. I started teaching this young gal and her baby filly over 2.5 yrs ago. She is now starting her under saddle at almost 3 5 yrs old. This is thier first trot transition. One lesson a week and she has done the work.

I teach owners how to start thier own young horse. If you have the riding skills as this gal does, it can be done. If the horse has had a proper education, training, preparation, and foundation then it is not a rodeo with the horse screaming in fear and stress.

No stress here, as we created a horse who enjoys learning and is willing. She is soft and responsive and she is learning. Sassy likes to learn new things, like most young horses I work with.

I prepare young horses for the more intense training they will have in the future. I teach humans how to do this with thier own young stock. It builds an amazing connection and a solid young horse ready for more stressful training to come in their discipline.

I have openings to take a couple more students. I work well with teens wanting to learn more about how horses think and feel and want to improve thier horsemanship. This is not a riding lesson program, its a training and horsemanship program to strengthen skills and teach new tools to already skilled riders.

You will learn how to get into the horses mind
How to read the tiny stress signals and calming signals
I teach you how to use your body and energy to work with your horse.
How to communicate and have a conversation a horse desires and wants more of.
Rope handling skills that keep you and the horse safe.
Feal and timing
How to regulate nervous system for horse and human
New ways to lunge and round pen without chasing and driving with tools.
Troubleshooting tips and more.

I am mobile and come to you. I am in the chino valley area and travel the entire area. Also I travel Phoenix on weekends.
