To the Neighbor Who Called Animal Control…”

To the neighbor who called Animal Control on Tyson…

You thought he was dangerous.

You said he barked too much.
Moved too aggressively.
Made the neighborhood “unsafe.”

So one night… you made the call.

What you didn’t know?

That same night… something else was happening.

Around 2:17 a.m., smoke started filling the house next door.

An electrical fire.

Silent. Fast. Deadly.

Everyone inside was asleep.

Except Tyson.

He didn’t bark for no reason.

He was trying to warn them.

And when no one came out…

He broke through the backyard fence.

Scratched at the door.
Barked louder.
Didn’t stop.

Until lights turned on.

Until someone opened the door.

Until a family of four made it out safely.

By the time firefighters arrived, flames were already swallowing the living room.

Tyson sat outside… coughing… but alive.

So yeah.

He was “loud.”

He was “too much.”

He was “a problem.”

But that “problem dog” saved an entire family.

On this day my sweet boy was born 14 yrs ago. He would become a foster with me, my 2nd one; and I would later decide it was best he stay with me. He was such a good, sweet boy quickly learning about each other. He did not like putting on his harness 🤦🏻‍♀️. I trained him how to get in to the car with a ramp and trampoline for extra added height. Wishing my sweet boy a heavenly birthday, Banjo! 🐶🐾🚙 🎂

We moved to Texas late last March... Shortly after moving here I had to put Banjo to sleep 🫤😟😥. Now I have 2 crazies that keep me busy. Dakota loves to play and finds the empty containers more fun than the toys I pay money 💰 for 🤦🏼‍♀️.

This sweetie is 9mos old and has been at a shelter since she was 10weeks old. She has been at our shelter for a little bit and is so scared, timid and like the girls when they arrived. I want to take the girls down to see if it we can get them all to play. 🐶🐶🐶🤞🏼🙏

This white stuff slowly started to appear and with each passing day & night it covered the back yard and front yard…. The girls are enjoying it but mom not so much because they become a wet and stinky mess.

I bought a dog cot for the girls. It arrived on Friday so I quickly got it put together. The girls were very skiddish as I got each piece out and together. Neither one of them wanted to go near it. I moved it around the living room and put a pillow on top to make it even more enticing but nope they weren’t going near that scary cot, well that is until this Saturday morning when Delilah decided to get up on it! 🐶😬🤣🎉🎉🛏️

Forney Animal Shelter will be closed on Saturday the 24th due to inclement weather. If you have an emergency during this time, please call the Forney PD at 972-552-6625.

Remember, if it's cold outside, please bring in your pets. It's not only common sense, but it's the law!

The Safe Outdoor Dogs Act (SOAct) is a Texas law effective January 18, 2022, setting mandatory humane standards for unattended outdoor dogs, requiring adequate shelter from extreme weather
