I had a great time at the Youth & Ag Benefit show today put on by the MSRPA. An excellent time visiting with all of my rabbit friends and celebrating Laura’s 40th birthday.

I was lucky enough that JAC’s Pink Pony was awarded Best Of Breed in both shows out of around 70 open Mini Rex. I was thrilled when she was given 2nd reserve in show in show A. Congratulations to everyone!

While I don’t always show rabbits I’ve purchased, I took my two new himis I got from convention to the NTOP show in Lincoln, NE today before I started breeding them. I was thrilled to win reserve in show with a black senior doe from Cirque du Lagomorph. I cannot thank Joanna enough for all the help, advice, rabbits and friendship she given me in my new breed adventure.

The mini rex did very well with some class, variety and group wins in a very competitive mini rex show!

So I judged another county fair today. These are probably my favorite part of the entire rabbit hobby. I enjoy helping and mentoring the youth, the future of our hobby. There are always moms with these youth, supporting them and keeping their kids on the straight and respectful path. Different today, there was a mom there that kept quiet but attentive. Simply a spectator, my own mom that has always been my biggest supporter finally got to watch me do something I love. Our parents mold us into the adults we become and I couldn’t be prouder of who made me, me. I left Plattsburg with a little bit bigger smile from her big hug and “you did a good job! You sounded so professional” knowing I’d not be here without her and my dad’s unwavering support. Thank you mom. ❤️

I’ve had a very off year with the rabbits this year with VERY few litters and honestly, lack of motivation. I think my friends noticed because I was gifted a few rabbits over the last few months from some great friends. They all had their reasons, but I think they wanted to be sure I still had rabbits to show, so I would keep coming to shows haha..

Two of those rabbits came from Caci and Hannah from Twin Falls rabbitry and both of them were awarded a BOB this weekend at the Missouri State Convention.

Twin Falls Echo (left - senior doe) was BOB in the specialty show on Friday out of 153 open mini rex

Twin Falls Mandy (right- junior doe) was BOB in show A on Saturday, and I’m not sure how many but I think a few more than the Friday special.

These girls have really bloomed the last couple months and I can’t wait to get babies out of them.

Moral of the story- rabbits are great but friends are greater. I love this hobby and the friends I have made dragging these critters around the country for the last 20ish years.

National entries are in! A small team of 7 are coming with me, mostly young stuff. I will have a chin junior buck, chin junior doe, and a sable junior doe available. Come find me to take a look at them!! See you all there!

I’m finally getting a second to reflect and post about how much fun I had this weekend at Mini Rex Nationals! I was lucky to travel with Jill and Molly and enjoyed every minute of it.

My otter senior doe, JAC’s No Lie, had an amazing day winning her class out of 25 and going on to win her variety and group!

As everyone knows, I don’t take very good pictures. Despite that, I have always loved this wide, powerhouse of a doe.

Congratulations to everyone for their successes in Texas!

To say I’m proud of miss Molly would be an understatement. This weekend Molly had best of breed in all three shows with JAC’s Bo**er. She then went on to win reserve in show in both A and B shows and best in show for show C. Bo**er was then named best of the best out of all 6 best in show winners BOTH OPEN AND YOUTH!

Molly has shown Bo**er 7 times and has won BIS or RIS with her 5 times.

Congratulations Molly!

Finally some of my highlights from Missouri State Convention! Friday night in the specialty show JAC’s No Lie was BOB and JAC’s Super Fly was BOS. In show B on Sunday, No Lie was BOB again! Rumor was there were 150 mini rex in open and 180 in youth entered but I have not seen the official numbers yet. No Lie pulled a complete surprise on me and was awarded 1st reserve in show later that afternoon! I am over the moon with how my rabbits did this weekend. But as always, the best part was getting to see my rabbit family for a long weekend at my favorite show of the year.

Congratulations to all of the exhibitors!

Warning: anyone that knows me knows I am very bad at taking pictures of rabbits.

Another GREAT day for my buddy Molly and her doe JAC’s Bo**er!! Congrats Molly!

Had a fun time at the SWMHR show in southern Missouri on Saturday! It was great to see so many friends and show some rabbits. This was the first time I have shown since the first of the year and I really liked showing in groups! I was pleased with how all of my rabbits did. My otter senior doe JAC’s Burn Out was BOG in the first show under Wade and BOB in the second show under Cathy Szychulda. Wade later picked her for Reserve in Show! Congrats to all the winners
