As a breeder of well bred, pure bred, fully health tested and diversity tested standard poodles there is a time with a remarkable litter that you have to say goodbye to all your littles. Well for me that is starting this week. Mama Aretha leaves tommorow with her puppy, Meadow, back to their guardian and forever home. The guardian followed through our contract with flying colors and she and her family get to keep Aretha forever along with their pick puppy. Also tomorrow my little apricot, the first one I have ever had, my sweet Chantrelle, goes to her home in Berkeley. On Friday my Adorable little Button, who was born with a docked tail, goes home with her mama to live in Glendale. Saturday my biggest boy Porcini goes home with his family to live in Sacramento. Also my heart throb Shiitake and her brother Morel both go to friends in Sacramento. On Sunday, Truffle goes home to live with his family in Rohnert Park. I will have one left and that is dear Shaggy who will finally go home next Saturday and live in San Ramon with the daughter of a friend who has one of my Stella Blue's pups.
This is bittersweet because I won't have another litter in my home unless I change my mind. I will miss the silly pranks and running around the yard and food times and night times in my living area with cuddles from my sweets while the others play. I won't miss the potty room, even though I am very proud of all them using it all of the time since 5 weeks old. Cleaning p**p every day gets very old.
I Love these babies with all my heart and, while I am happy for all their new families, I am very sad that I won't have puppy cuddles throughout the day any more. I hope they give their new families all the love and joy they have given me.
