A no-kill, 100% volunteer-run, feline-friendly cat shelter dedicated to rescuing, providing care and love, and rehoming abandoned domesticated cats in Chico, CA. We are a non-profit, no kill and all-volunteer organization previously with a mission to rescue and rehome abandoned and surrendered adoptable cats in the greater Chico area. When we were founded in 1997, our goal was to rescue, house, an

d rehome the very large cat colony in lower Bidwell Park. Over the years, we removed over 1000 cats from the park, and have adopted out over 700 cats. These rescues benefit the cats and the people of Chico who use and enjoy the park. Had these cats not been trapped and altered, the feline population in that area would have grown tremendously over the last decade, leading to an unhealthy and hazardous situation for all. Bella and Chaos have had nobody come to see them. How can that be?! These sweet senior brother and sister are about 13 years old now, and they deserve a home to call their own for their golden years.

They love people and are very friendly, always eager to chat about your day or just snooze by your side. They are big kitties, so they might need some extra fluffy blankets!

Open Shelter Hours is back on Saturday from 11-1 PM, and all the kitties are waiting to meet you!

If you've never been to the CCC before, this is a great time to come on by for a tour of our open concept shelter and meet our friendly volunteers.

If you're thinking about adding a new friend to your family, we have many special cats eager to have a family to love them and call their own. You can take your time, wander through, meet them all, brush and play with them, and get to know them all.

We hope you will swing by! Drop-in; come by any time between 11-1.

Sweet Sylvia, our little 10 year old purrball, has been adopted!

Her new family fell in love with her from the very start, visiting multiple times to prepare for her new life.

Sylvia is equally as smitten with her new pawrents as they are with her, and we couldn't be more excited for the three of them.

Poor sweet Cinder cat is still waiting for someone to choose her. 🐾

She has spent almost two years at the shelter watching other kitties go home, while she perfects her very important skills:

✨ Champion receiver of pets and chin scratches

Cinder is a little shy at first, but once she trusts you she melts into the coziest little companion. She is not looking for chaos or nonstop zoomies. Her dream is a calm home, soft blankets, gentle humans, and someone to share quiet evenings with.
