🦜 If you are ready for a flock that doesn’t require you to introduce and socialize all the members, here is your opportunity! This eclectic group of budgies has been together for since 2022 and is comprised of two bonded pairs. All of the birds except Io are CLEAR alumni; they returned to us after their wonderful family welcomed a baby. They've all been to the vet and received a clean bill of health!

After being dumped in an alley with a prolapse that needed surgical intervention, this lady upgraded to an entire tortoise-friendly home and yard with forever mom Meryl, who also built her a custom enclosure perfect for a Red-footed Tortoise's needs. We're so glad for you both!

This is Sterling, and he is a Very Good and Brave Boy.

Sterling got into some shenanigans, and ended up with a broken leg. The good news is that he's received amazing care from our friends at Chicago Exotics Animal Hospital- his vet yesterday said: " He stepped right up onto my finger as if to ask if we were going on an adventure!" Of course, that adventure included X-rays and a boot...to boot. 🥾😭

In 2025 we accepted ***3*** parakeets with leg fractures, and all were eventually adopted after their treatment- but our adoption fees for these birds only cover a tenth of what it costs to treat a budgie's broken leg- a $130 adoption fee vs. potentially $1500+ in vet bills. Sterling will have several weekly vet visits for bandage changes, and a recheck to follow. Recovery could easily take a couple of months and includes a special needs enclosure and twice daily meds to start.
