IKC is excited to introduce our judge for the Great American Puppy Show! W***y Sanitago of Miami, Florida!

W***y Santiago began showing dogs in Havana, Cuba. His first show dog was an Italian Greyhound. Since his early years in the sport, he has also been breeding Yorkshire terriers and continues to do so today. While living in the United States, he has been successfully handling a variety of breeds, including smooth fox terriers, Pomeranians, Greyhounds, and his beloved Afghan Hounds.
In 2023 he campaigned the Afghan Hound MBIS MBISS GCHG Zaida Bint Muti Von Haussman to number one hound and number two dog of all breeds. W***y and Zaida have won over 70 Best in Show Awards, as well as winning the hound group at the AKC Royal Canin National Championship. In 2024 they traveled to Zagreb, Croatia where Zaida won Best in Show at the FCI World Dog Show, and later in the year they became the first team in history to win six consecutive Bests in Show at Mexico City’s famed Expo Can shows.
When asked about his assignment at the Great American Puppy Show, W***y said, “I am very honored and excited to judge beautiful puppies in Chicago. I can’t wait to see the future of our sport!”
