Nothing prepares you for holding a microphone up to a dog and genuinely waiting for an answer. 🎤🐶

But here we are. And we’d like to do it again.

The shirts say Beach Leash Crew. The job description? A little bit of everything. 🐾🤙

Capturing the action, cheering you on, lending a hand, and stopping to meet just about every dog along the way. Someone has to handle the belly rubs, too.

A little behind the scenes with the team that helps bring our adventures to life. Getting out there and connecting with the dogs, their people, and the folks who bring this community together is one of our favorite parts of what we do 🌊

If you spot the pink shirts, come say hi! Whether you’ve got a question about Beach Leash or a pup we haven’t met yet, we’d love to meet you both.

Where should the Beach Leash crew pop up next? Drop your favorite dog beach, meetup, or event below 👇

Bradley Cooper was actually named after this guy. Or at least that’s the story Jill is sticking with. 😂🐕

Meet Bradley Shortboard Cooper, the third surf dog in a family tradition that started years ago with Jill’s first competitive surfing dog.

For Jill, it’s become a legacy. One dog retires, another learns, and somehow they all end up wanting to get on the board with her.

We caught up with Jill and Bradley at the Surf Dog Surf A Thon to talk about keeping that tradition going, supporting Helen Woodward Animal Center, and the most important advice for the competition.

Get your rest, eat your snacks, get some sunshine, and surf it up. 🌊🤙

Sometimes all you need is the right teacher. 🌊🐕

Rocket wasn’t exactly a natural the first time he tried surfing. But after some time in the shallows and a little help from Cherie, the veteran surf dog who showed him the ropes, things started to click.

We caught up with Dan and Rocket at the Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon to talk about how they got started, why they keep coming back, and how dog surfing became more than just a fun day at the beach.

For Dan, it’s also been a way to give the hobby some purpose through supporting organizations like Helen Woodward Animal Center.

And according to Rocket, the other competitors better watch out. 👀

Yeah… these dogs can actually surf. 🌊🐕

A few more clips from the Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon because one recap definitely wasn’t enough.

Still pretty hard to beat a morning at Del Mar Dog Beach watching dogs paddle out, catch waves, and somehow make it all look completely normal.

Proud to have Beach Leash there supporting the event and Helen Woodward Animal Center.

More surf dog content or are we officially obsessed?

Such an incredible day supporting Helen Woodward Animal Center at the Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon. 🌊🐾 We were proud to be a sponsor of an event that brings the dog community together while benefiting the amazing work Helen Woodward Animal Center does for animals all year long.

And then, of course… there was the surfing. 😎

Big waves, flying ears, wipeouts, celebrations, costumes, and some seriously talented dogs putting on a show all morning. We loved catching up with familiar faces, meeting new friends, and cheering on every pup that paddled out.

Huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi and to all the dogs, owners, volunteers, organizers, and supporters who made the day such a good one.

Already looking forward to the next one. 🤙🐕🌊

Tomorrow we’re back on the beach with some of our favorite surf dogs. 🌊🐕

Beach Leash is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon, and we seriously can’t wait to see everyone at Del Mar Dog Beach.

We’ve gotten to know so many incredible dogs, owners and competitors throughout surf dog season, and we’re excited to cheer everyone on, catch up with old friends and meet plenty of new ones tomorrow.

If you’re coming out, come find the Beach Leash crew and say hi! We’ll be there all day soaking it in and watching some very talented pups hit the waves. 🤙

See you tomorrow, San Diego!
