I am so saddened to say that my first ever solo client suddenly crossed the rainbow bridge over the weekend.
He was the goofiest stinky boy and taught me so much as a trainer.

My heart is with Eleanor and Delilah during this unimaginable loss. He was so deeply loved and that love will always remain.

Run free, sweet boy. You will never be forgotten 🤍

Day 1 → chaos, pulling, walking into me.
Day 20 → calm, focused, and walking right by my side.

Aspen went from leading the walk to following guidance. Minimal pulling, automatic sits at stops, and a HUGE drop in anxiety.

This is what structure, consistency, and clear communication can do in just 20 days. 🐾

Not a “perfect dog” — just a dog that finally understands what’s expected of her.

When I was 19, I got my first dog. He was about 10 months old and chewed on everything… TV cords, shoes, chargers, blankets, anything he could get his mouth on. (Picture of the culprit posted)

I remember posting on Facebook asking how to stop it, and the advice I got was always the same
“Put your stuff up, he’s a dog.”
“Give him more exercise.”

Looking back now as a dog trainer, I realize how wrong that mindset is.

I have a four year old son who leaves toys, clothes, and everything else all over the house… and my dog still knows what’s his and what’s not. You shouldn’t have to live in a constant state of managing your environment just to avoid destruction. Your dog is capable of learning better.

If your dog is struggling with chewing, here are a few tips that actually help:

1. Crate train your dog
If you’re not there to supervise, your dog shouldn’t have free roam. You can’t correct what you don’t see.
2. Don’t yell or punish
Yelling or spanking doesn’t teach your dog not to chew, it just teaches them to hide it from you.
3. Set up training opportunities
Keep a leash on your dog inside and intentionally leave items out. When your dog shows interest in something they shouldn’t have, calmly redirect them to an appropriate chew toy and reward that choice.

Training isn’t about controlling your environment forever. It’s about teaching your dog how to exist in it while making good choices!

Demo dog appreciation post 🐾

These two are the reason behind so much of what I do. Every training session, every bit of trial and error, every breakthrough… it all starts with them.

Kai and Nezzy, thank you for being the snouts behind the scenes, helping me grow, learn, and better understand every dog I work with. You’re not just part of the process, you’re a huge part of this business and my heart.

Couldn’t do this without you ❤️
