You know those moments when you hear something you’ve learned about plenty of times before, but something about the way it’s said hits you in a whole new way?
This quote was one of those moments for me.
I think most of us have a tendency to want to keep repeating the good things our horses are doing. After all, practice makes perfect, right?
But when a horse is learning, it’s crucial to make it crystal clear when they do something right… and not over practice it.
Let them stop and stand for a minute, let them walk on a loose rein, or get off and loosen your cinch.
When you come out for your next ride, you might be surprised how quickly your horse keeps improving.
