What sets BDAR apart is our unique vision for Wyoming:

We’re the only rescue dedicated exclusively to helping Wyoming’s homeless pets and Wyoming’s pet owners. PACK Program: A partnership with the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution that pairs shelter dogs with inmate handlers for 9 weeks. This program teaches dogs basic obedience and provides both the dog and the inmate with the opportunity

for shared redemption and rehabilitation. Foster care: A program designed to increase the capacity of the adoption program by placing animals in temporary care in the homes of willing volunteers. High-volume adoptions: A program designed to place as many homeless pets in dedicated permanent homes as quickly as possible, thereby freeing up physical, financial, and human resources necessary to care for new incoming animals, or those requiring more extensive therapies prior to adoption. Low-cost microchips: Affording people the ability to have their pet permanently identified in the event they become missing and need to be reunited with their owner. Pet food pantry: Assisting members of the community with free dog and cat food and other supplies during times of financial hardship. Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (PASS) program: Re-homing assistance for dogs who need not ever enter a shelter.

This big boy is looking for a new home! Originally from Texas, he's loved living in the cooler weather. Sly loves treats and will show you a good sit and catch the treat in his mouth if you toss it to him.

Sly's got some scarring on his legs but can't claim to be a tough dog. He would much prefer to lay on couches and binge watch tv than go outside for a run.

June was busy and flew by! We had 37 adoptions this month and here are just a few of them.

Highlights include:

We are at capacity for adult cats and our surrender waiting list is growing by the day. Help us make room by adopting any adult cat between now and July 31st for free! All cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, and come with a certificate for a free vet visit!

At 4 years old, she’s a poised and elegant companion who loves sunny windows, quiet admiration, and the occasional feather wand duel (on her terms, of course). She's affectionate once you've earned her trust and expects to be treated like the majestic feline she is. Long live the queen.
