Just a reminder to prepare for delays on US 395 from Hatch to Hamilton Road due to the paving project. Starting Monday May 5.

Travelers who use US 395 between the Hatch Road interchange and Hamilton Road just south of Deer Park should plan additional time to prevent delay as the paving project returns after going on winter suspension last fall.

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation have already started staging equipment to resume the paving project that restarts on Monday, May 5.

With the paving project restarting after the winter suspension on US 395 between Hatch and Hamilton Road, contractor crews will resume normal working hours of 7 a.m., to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Crews will begin in the northbound lanes of US 395 as work resumes with a single lane closure. As work resumes, so does the enforceable reduced speed limit within the work zone of 45 mph. The reduced speed limit will remain in place only during working hours of the project.

In late 2024, the contractor paved the shoulders of US 395 from the Wandermere Road interchange to just north of Hatch Road and the Hatch Road interchange. This year the project will repave the driving lanes north of Hatch Road to Hamilton Road. The paving project is anticipated to last through June once paving is completed over the 9 mile stretch of roadway.
