With a heavy heart today we sent Spanky, one of our dachshunds, bratwurst, and wiggleiest of the wiggle butts across the rainbow bridge. He was 14 years old. A rescue that came into our lives as overweight bratwurst with lots of love to give. We worked hard to get him back to a healthy weight. He loved playing fetch so weight loss came easy. Going from 32lbs down to 17lbs. Spanky always wanted to be petted and loved. He wasn't the best burrow but boy did he love to snuggle under a blanket. He fit right into our pack as if he was a long lost uncle. It didn't matter that he wasn't blood, our herd accepted him as their own. Spanky was with us for 7 wonderful years. He will be deeply missed. I'm glad knowing he is at peace and pain free now. I know we gave him a wonderful life full of love, happiness, and treats. 💔🐾🌈
