One year old, 30lb Rob is one cool dude (see photo evidence of him at an event!). He loves interacting with people and other animals, always eager to make new friends. He’s smart, affectionate, and thrives on companionship. Rob is great on a leash, playing with other dogs, and even gets along with the resident cat. After some exercise, he settles down beautifully for a nap or cuddle time. He sits and goes into his crate on command! Meet Herman, an adorable a mixed-breed guy with cute floppy ears and an expressive face. Herman’s foster mom says he is super-sweet and doesn’t bark much, and why would he, when he can say so much with just his soulful eyes! Herman is a lover. He’ll hang around his foster mom and let her know he is ready for hugs and cuddles. Herman has already learned so much from his foster family about how to be his best self. He is very well-behaved in his crate and is learning commands like “sit.” He is making good progress with potty training, using p*e pads and also going outside with his foster mom. He has also learned not to jump on people and instead he will politely approach people like the good boy he is. He is four months and currently about 20 pounds. Frodo is a fun-loving, toy-chasing beagle mix who’s on a journey to find his forever family. At 5 years old and 33 lbs, Frodo is the perfect combo of spunky and snuggly. To close out Volunteer Appreciation Month, we want to highlight Jacqueline Maxey, our Public Relations Coordinator!

Jacqueline has been with Operation Paws for Homes for over 9 years and in that time has proven to be one of our most dedicated volunteers! Among other things, she helps manage our social media accounts, works with our PR team to create content and innovative methods to promote our dogs and cats, and assists in promoting the rescue’s fundraising efforts.

As if all of that weren’t enough, Jacqueline also fearlessly leads the executive committee with our mission of creating a better world for companion animals and the community through rescue, rehabilitation, education, spay/neuter, and providing resources to underserved populations.

This is Roo, he was dumped at the shelter. Our shelter partners believe he came from a litter and since he was born this way, the owners/breeder didn't want him. At only 4 months old this precious baby has been claimed/saved by OPH and will be welcomed with open arms at Friday’s transport by his foster. It’s a promise we’ve made countless times and always keep, Roo will only know love from here on out. Help us find him a home! Share this post and find ways you can give back below:

This elegant girl is as affectionate as they come. 🥰 She starts purring the moment you walk in and insists on being loved—belly rubs included! She’ll roll over with her eyes closed in total bliss, just soaking up the attention.

Katara is not just sweet—she’s stunning. With her striking black, burnt sienna, and white markings, she turns heads wherever she goes. At 7.5 lbs, Katara is the perfect lap-sized snugglebug.
