Our newest tiny baby needs a name! And he would LOVE a foster or foster-to-adopt home, to help him grow healthy and confident! He's about 5-weeks-old.

This little guy was found in a wheel well, in Wallingford. No mama or littermates have been located (aside from one other kitten, hit by a car 😔). He's shy, but has started to purr when held.

Chloe has quickly settled into her new foster home. Just like in her previous placement, she adores the kids! We really hope her future family will have some children for her to cuddle. 💙

Please share Chloe, to help us find her a family. She has been waiting for more than a year now!

Female, cattle dog mix, approx. 2-years-old, spayed and fully vetted, microchipped, 45lbs, crate-trained, house-trained, good on leash. Can be dog-selective, but usually does well with slow introductions. Has done well with cats. Lower energy/calm couch potato/cuddle bug personality. Shy with strangers, but fiercely loyal to "her" people!

Currently fostered in Higganum, CT

💙 ADOPTED💙

Little Jack has come such a long way in his recovery, and he is still looking for a forever home!

Most of his teeth have been extracted, but he is living his best life with soft foods and finally free of pain. He does great with animals of all kinds, and really loves people, now that he knows they can be good. He is fine in a crate, walks pretty well on a leash, and comes when called! He has conquered a lot of his fears (grass, stairs, furniture, and wet ground, for example), and will just keep learning more how to be a dog, every day.

If you are looking for a chill, mostly couch potato buddy, this is the guy for you!

‼️ Immediate placement needed for Sugar!

NO ADOPTION FEE. Application still required.

This sweet dog needs a new home or foster family ASAP. Her family is in a rough situation, and we want to help.

Sugar currently lives in Hartford County. She is 3-years-old, about 40lbs, and loves kids and other dogs. She grew up around small children and various other pets, and is crate-trained, house-trained, and knows her commands. She is a super-duper cuddler, and very loyal to her people.

She does have some food allergies, and prefers women over men. She barks at new people, but warms up and settles quickly. She is a quick learner!

Do you remember Jack and Diane, the two Shih Tzus we removed from a hoarding situation? Diane and her surviving babies have all been adopted, and are living their best lives.

Jack is still a work in progress. He has come so far, but he is ready for his next major hurdle - extensive dental surgery.

His teeth are possibly the worst we have ever seen. Most, if not all, his teeth are rotted and diseased. He has been treated for significant infection in his jaw, and the entire mandible has atrophied. Jack can only eat soft foods, and he is in a lot of discomfort. We want to have this repaired as soon as possible to relieve Jack's pain, prevent further damage (bone loss and infection), and get Jack ready, FINALLY, for a forever home!

The current quote for surgery is pictured above. We will be in further conversation with the vet tomorrow, but it is likely that he will need far more extensive work than their initial exam suggests.

We need your help to get Jack through this - please consider donating towards Jack's medical care. Honestly, every single dollar matters!

Venmo: SunshineRescue (phone #: 4332)
PayPal: PayPal.me/SunshineRescue
Cashapp: $SunshineRescue

(We are going to see if the vet will take donations over the phone as well - stay tuned, if that is your preferred method of donation)

THANK YOU to Heather Bradley, for giving Jack all the love he deserves, while he waits for his future family! We can't wait to see his personality come out when he gets some relief. 💙

In a single day, our bottle baby count went from 1... to 13. 😳

We'll share details when we have a moment to breathe, but in the meantime, we are in desperate need of supplies for all these babies, particularly formula and puppy/kitten food for weaning.

A massive amount of gratitude goes out to the village it is taking to raise this crew, and all the people who pulled together to save a lot of little lives.

Please welcome our first bottle baby of the year!

This little one was delivered to us when he was only a few days old - he still had some of his umbilical cord attached. He was found in a construction site with one littermate, who unfortunately didn't survive to meet us.

His foster affectionately calls him "Stinky," due to unfortunate and severe GI issues the kitten is trying to work through. 😝

Swipe to watch him grow!

We have good news for potential adopters!

A generous sponsor has offered to cover 50% of the adoption fees for Chloe and her remaining 3 puppies (Blueberry Cake, Bear Claw, and Strawberry Frosted).

All four have been waiting so patiently to be chosen, always overlooked. Would you consider adoption? (Foster-to-adopt is an option)

All four are crate-trained and love children! All have done well with cats, though Bear has shown interest in chasing them. They generally do well with other dogs - Chloe needs slow introductions, and both she and Bear are alphas, so they should only be with dogs who aren't going to be dominant.

They are all microchipped, dewormed, kept on prevention, and vaccinated. Chloe gets spayed next week! This family is super mutt for sure, potentially with boxer and cattle dog in the mix? Medium size. They all love their people fiercely and enjoy cuddles.

Currently fostered in Higganum and East Hampton.

CHLOE'S STORY (Written by Chloe's foster mom)

Why hasn't she had even one person interested in her? 😢

Chloe was found wandering the streets of TX, extremely pregnant and covered in fleas. An angel named Glenda saw her and didn't give up on catching her. She brought her home and cleaned her up and gave her a safe place to have her 12 puppies! Chloe and her puppies then became part of the Sunshine Rescue family. They moved to a foster in Houston, TX until it was time to travel to CT.

I became the foster for Chloe and her 10 surviving Doughnut puppies in October. When Chloe came to me, she was shy, scared, depressed, and just really sad looking. She would flinch or go low to the ground if I tried putting my hand over her head. She was so afraid of my husband that her teeth would chatter. She was underweight and taking care of her 10 puppies. Over time, I would eventually get a little wag of her tail when I would go in the puppy room.

As Chloe began to get healthy, feel better, and trust me, she became a brand new dog! I love watching her transformation. She has chosen me as her person, and I love her to pieces.

I have been fostering for over 2 years now for Sunshine Rescue, and have not been a foster fail yet. This would 100% be my first foster fail, but Chloe and my female dog do not like each other, and I have to keep them separated.

Chloe is now a very happy and loving dog. She enjoys going for walks, cuddling with her person, playing with her toys, eating treats, playing fetch (only 3-4 runs), and playing with our male dog, Sunny. She loves my kids, and I noticed when we took her for a walk in the park yesterday that she was keeping an eye on where there were. She also enjoys getting scratches and treats from my husband and no longer sees him as a threat. She does bark at other dogs on our walk. I believe with slow and proper introductions that Chloe could be happy with another dog. She would also be fine as an only dog. Chloe needs a family that will have patience with her, as she takes time to warm up to new people. I would like to see her have a family that will take the time to work with a trainer to help her become more comfortable out in public.

💙 Please consider giving Chloe a chance. She won't disappoint you. 💙

You can apply for Chloe through Sunshine Rescue. Foster-to-adopt is also an option to see of she will be a good fit for your family.

Chloe is crate-trained, house-trained and pretty good on a leash. She is working on her basic commands, but does come when I call her in the yard. She is around 50lbs and up to date on vetting so far, negative for heartworms and tickborn diseases. She did well with cats in her Houston foster home.

These beautiful puppies have been completely overlooked, and it's heartbreaking. Is it because they aren't tiny and fluffy? They have SO MUCH love to give!

Bear Claw (female) is super smart.
Blueberry Cake (male) is a big goofball.
Pumpkin Spice (female) loves to follow "her person" everywhere.
Chocolate (female) is timid, and just wants cuddles.
Strawberry Frosted (female) wants all the toys!

If you felt lonely this Valentine's Day... We can fix that. 💜💙🩵🩷

Bringing Unwanted Puppies from the South to Loving Homes in CT!

My name is Hannah, and I’m just one person bringing one group of puppies (and some dogs) up from the South at a time. The overpopulation and mistreatment of dogs in these states is heartbreaking, while New England’s puppy adoption demand is high, so I decided to step in where I can. They all have different stories, and are 100% lovable and loving mutt.
