Caturday was such a great success. 3 of our babies went home and the 4th goes home on Tuesday. All the volunteers and myself all said it felt like home being back at the old shelter...... it was a great day!

Sometimes you can't save them you don't get to them in time. I named him Angel maybe all of 4 months missing an eye and I believe blind in the other. I held him close taking his last breath singing your are my sunshine. Angel you were loved even though you were only in my arms for less than a half hour you will always be close to my heart. Run free sweet baby .......momma loves you!

I'm tired and fed up with Petersburg sending people to us when clearly the situation of abandonment and neglect is thier job. I get at least 1 to 3 calls a day saying they were told to call smittys that they only take owner surrenders. So sick , injured, abandoned and neglected cats are my responsibility! Not according to state code that's your job....... come on do better!

Pickles says " look I got all dressed up for Caturday (saturday) at 13508 Route 1 Chester Va from 12 til 3 so ya'll need to come out and see my friends and give them homes for Christmas!

**STRAY-- OUTSIDE OF COLONIAL HEIGHTS**

This canine appears to be lost. It came into our jurisdiction where the reporting party provided false information this baby was picked up on Conduit here in the City of Colonial Heights. "Having been pushed out of a black in color vehicle that drove off."

Through our investigation today, this canine was actually located at Summit Pointe Apartments in the City of *Petersburg* by this reporting party. The reporting party has been directed to bring this canine to the proper jurisdiction and reminded to provide the accurate information.

If you are currently missing this canine, please feel free to call us at 804-520-9397.

We will provide updates once this canine is released and enroute to it's proper locality where it was originally found.

*** PLEASE NOTE: When securing an animal, please make note of the address where it was located. If you are unsure, you can check Google maps, drop a pin on your maps, find the nearest street sign, go to the nearest gas station, or your best option is to contact the non-emergency number and they can direct you accordingly. It is important the proper jurisdiction is informed as most people missing their pets will check the jurisdiction in which they live.***

This is the Third canine in 24 hours where false information has been provided. This does not help the animal, the possible owner or the jurisdiction attempting to house it.

We had a family come to our event yesterday that decided as a family that thier gift this year would be a kitten. This is how we like to see kittens given as gifts a family decision not let's get a kitten and surprise them and hope for the best......

What another great event at Iron Gait Horse Farm it might have been a grey day but it was warm and dry inside the barn
Lots of visitors and hot chocolate, horses dressed up in thier Christmas attire, pony rides, turkeys showing us thier beautiful tailfans, piggies talking to us and our Magpie and Cupcake got adopted! Thx to all that came out Michelle and her crew for hosting us and my volunteers couldn't do it without you!

I got adopted now I have my own family and Christmas tree but my friends haven't been adopted yet but you can meet them Sunday December 3rd at Iron Gait Horse Farm from 12 til 3 and adopt them then they will have a tree and a family of thier own too....

Bring the kids out to the farm for pony rides this Sunday and support our local cat rescue, Smitty’s. Lots of cats and kittens available for adoption, stop by and take a look! *Pony rides are weather permitting but you can still come and see them and get your picture taken with them even if you can’t ride!

UPDATE: our boy Wally that was actually a girl and had kittens then had to have emergency surgery has crossed the bridge. I brought her home yesterday she ate some babyfood hoping she would bounce back vets did everything possible so I held her and rocked her and told her she needed to fight she was going to get a family that would love her forever but I believe she died not just from infection but a broken heart..... Wally you were loved from the moment I got you I'm sorry your family failed you I'll see you at the bridge some day ...... love you Momma Lynne.

Took in a very handsome guy on Sunday because he had gotten out and owners husband wouldn't let him back in the house well he had kittens this am all still born and was in distress so rushed to vet more kittens still inside deceased so once she's stable they will spay her....... its been a surprising day!
