Coming to visit and help us out for the next few weeks, Nelson Veterinary Services is pleased to welcome Dr². Colleen Lambo to the clinic. Dr. Lambo brings a wide range of experience in both general practice and international veterinary work.

Her volunteer efforts have taken her around the world, including work in Ukraine and Egypt, where she has helped provide veterinary care through high-volume spay and neuter clinics and community animal programs. She has also served with state emergency veterinary response teams, helping care for animals affected by natural disasters and other emergencies.

Dr. Lambo has been voted Best Veterinarian in her county twice, received the Veterinary Heroes Award in 2025, and was named Volunteer of the Year by the global animal welfare organization Worldwide Vets.

She has a particular passion for senior pet care. If you’ve got a pet with a gray muzzle, you would be wise to take advantage of her visit and schedule a quality-of-life exam to discuss best practices for comfort, mobility, and maintaining a happy life in the golden years.

Dr. Lambo also loves surgery, and much of her volunteer work overseas focuses on providing spay and neuter services to help communities manage pet populations and improve animal welfare.

Dr. Lambo has previously spent time at Lassen Veterinary Services where the clients & staff learned so much & are excited for her return. We are glad to have her here too!
